Team Description

The North America Risk Team supports issuers, acquirers and merchants in achieving optimal risk/benefit trade-offs in the operation of their Visa programs, making sure that the Visa business grows in a strong, safe and secure manner.  We use custom analysis and business intelligence, coupled with the extensive risk management experience of the team to provide clients with superior insights and guidance on risk management practices. In a fast changing environment, where technology is changing the way we operate and the fraudsters are constantly innovating we must be constantly monitoring for issues, identifying response options and communicating clearly to our clients how best to respond to the latest threats as well as position themselves strategically for the shift to digital payments. 

Position Summary 

This position will be responsible for identifying and researching risk and fraud related issues and developing analytics, reports and presentations that deliver insights into the dynamic and changing fraud environment in North America. He/she will collaborate and partner with the NA Risk team as well as our Risk colleagues across the globe to articulate the value proposition of innovative risk strategies, opportunities, performance and payments landscape.  He/She will monitor market dynamics, evaluate the likely impact of potential developments, prepare industry benchmarking, develop compelling executive levels presentations, proposals and make recommendations to assist with optimization of fraud risk strategies.

This is an individual contributor role responsible for solving complex problems and taking a broad perspective to identify new and better ways to elevate the North America Risk function. This role needs to operate in a matrixed and time pressured environment and be able to respond to quick turnarounds and output. The position will report directly into the Head of North America Risk. 

Responsibilities             

  • Create competitive advantage for Visa by developing risk focused market insights that combine our unparalleled data and risk expertise to differentiate our value to clients

  • Work closely with the NA Risk Team on the development and delivery of business and data analysis projects with output used in senior level internal and external client meetings

  • Project management, and effective execution and delivery of key initiatives and NA Risk hosted meetings or webinars to external clients

  • Production and/or delivery of periodic reports and analysis to our client contacts

  • Management of the library of common content that the NA Risk Team generates

  • Coordinate across cross-functional teams and identify gaps in access to critical data required to accurately manage fraud and reflect emerging fraud trends

  • Provide subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders on risk topics

  • Present findings to influence and achieve strategic objectives

Qualifications

  • An inquiring mind and a passion for presenting material in a way that educates, and informs and influences outcomes 
  • Prior risk experience preferred but not required  
  • Able to function autonomously and exercise sound judgment
  • Knowledge of the payments industry and risk products are valuable 
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and other tools to create and showcase effective analysis
  • A degree in business, finance or relevant field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
