Job Description



The Senior Design Technologist will join the San Francisco
Innovation Center team where we are transforming our product development and
design process into one that demonstrates human centered design practices with
a focus on actively engaging clients in product development and co-creation.
This design leader will be part of design thinking engagements that include
ideation, iteration and testing. The engagements will be both onsite and
offsite with Visa client teams. You will contribute to driving much of Visa’s
innovation road map through applied exploration and development, reporting to
the Vice President of the San Francisco Innovation Center.

You will lead the support of projects based on human
centered design methods and work across many aspects (e.g., design, technology,
products, etc) for Visa’s client merchants, acquirers, issuers, technology
partners and end consumers. Are you comfortable with ambiguity, developing
solutions that begin with the customer and rapid iterations of prototypes to
deliver customer experiences that are simple, powerful, and extraordinary? We

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You are passionate about design and technologies
    and are constantly trying to push the boundaries of what can be done.

  • You can rapidly build and iterate on
    low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes that express design intent, using the
    best and most appropriate tools and techniques, including developing functional
    prototypes for proof of concepts and alpha/beta pilots

  • You know the right mix of design, development
    and prototyping platforms and tools, and will select the most appropriate for
    the task.

  • You understand the strengths and weaknesses of
    the delivery platform, and are able to see opportunities and work around
    limitations and/or challenges imposed by the platform to craft delightful experiences
    for end users.

  • Have an inquisitive interest in design and
    engineering techniques and libraries including experience in building on a
    technology stack that meets the needs of rapid prototyping and find a way to
    communicate design with technology and never say it can’t be done

  • Work closely with the team and stake holders to
    perform design and technology feasibility of the intended experience, while you
    participate in project scoping and estimation tasks.

  • You will be a hands-on design technology resource
    for the team. You will help shape the concept and see it through to detailed
    design and implementation across a variety of devices and platforms.

  • Work with the creative team to understand and
    translate the interaction design into user stories.

  • You are comfortable with driving innovation from
    both a design and technical point of view.

  • Lead technical work of off-shore/near-shore
    teams of developers to make sure that the quality of the user experience as
    well as the code is consistently high.

  • Constantly push forward into new technologies
    and design to broaden your knowledge

  • Spread your passion for technology and design
    and how it can improve consumers lives

























Qualifications



    • Superb communication skills. You should be able
      to clearly articulate your ideas and design decisions
    • Strong facilitator and collaborator.

    • Experience working hands-on with developers and
      partners.

    • An understanding of the Human Centered Design
      process as well as user experience, user research, interaction design, and
      design principles

    • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
      practical experience.

    • Experience developing web and mobile products.

    • Experience with point of sale terminals (POS),
      EMV, tokenization, BLE, blockchain

    • Experience integrating 3rd party application
      frameworks and network services and leading implementation efforts

    • Experience developing clean, valid and novel
      mobile applications

    • Experience with architecture, library and
      framework development or machine learning, and vector and motion graphics

    • Excellent communication, project management, and
      organizational skills.
