Job Description

The Product Manager / Director will be a core member of the U.S. Prepaid Product team, which is responsible for supporting the payment growth strategy for Visa’s prepaid products. You will execute product development strategies and deliver industry leading business results across the prepaid portfolio. Overall product support and management is a key responsibility of this role, including maintaining core product infrastructure, using Visa data to analyze trends and opportunities and managing research to uncover insights and growth opportunities.

The ideal candidate should have a broad perspective and acumen of the payments industry, coupled with experience in product management and product strategy support. Wide-ranging experience and insight across the payments environment, from traditional banking to retail distribution, to emerging technology and channels, are ideal to bring to this role. Innovation and vision are also critical aspects for this role and are key in driving continued leadership and growth in payments through prepaid.

San Francisco/Foster City location is preferred though alternative locations will be considered.

Qualifications

Specific Responsibilities:

Product management for prepaid. Assigned initiatives may include:
  • Product Infrastructure: Update and maintain content and documentation to effectively support U.S. prepaid products.
  • Functional SME: Manage budget and forecasting, business modeling, competitive and regulatory landscape as assigned and ensure knowledge share across the organization.
  • Visa Prepaid Champion: Partner with Account Executive team to articulate and deliver Visa’s prepaid strategy and solutions to clients.
  • Industry Insights: Work with internal and external partners to identify, prioritize and execute research that delivers value added insights.
  • Product Road Map: Utilize consumer insights, competitive and marketplace trends, regulatory developments, and technological advancements to articulate clear consumer needs to translate into short and long-horizon road maps.
  • Work collaboratively with key business partners (e.g., Account Executives, Marketing, Global Product, Pricing, Legal); will be highly reliant on strong influence management skills and the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Support Request for Proposal (RFP) and new business development opportunities, as and when required.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in financial services or payments, with expertise in card industry is preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Business or equivalent preferred
  • Do you have an in-depth understanding of the electronic payments marketplace, regulatory environment, merchants and issuers?
  • You should have exceptional analytical abilities and fact-based approach to product management
  • Are you a flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions and manage uncertainty?
