Job Description

The Senior Director of Authorisation Improvement is responsible for developing the Visa Asia Pacific Authorisation Improvement Strategy and supporting country teams in driving incremental Visa and client
revenue through ongoing authorisation performance optimization.

The successful candidate is an exceptional leader with a deep understanding of the payments industry.  They are a strong team player with the ability to organize and mobilize his/her direct team and partner effectively with a diverse range of internal partners and external stakeholders. They are a high energy, results-oriented and motivated leader who will function well within a global, matrix organization.

The Senior Director: Authorisation Improvement will strive for authorisation excellence across the Visa network. Specifically he/she will:

  • Define and lead cross-functional strategies to optimize authorization performance in AP

  • Serve as an internal and external seniorauthorisation expert

  • Lead conversations with other Visa regional counterparts in client-facing strategic engagements to define and deliver best in class authorisation performance

  • Be responsible for authorization improvement efforts by supporting CSS Account Managers, Risk Service Managers & Client Relationship Managers in conducting authorisation performance reviews with identified clients including the assessment of multiple parameters, credit practices and technical setups to recommend corresponding adjustments that ensure continuous availability and optimal issuer authorization performance.

  • Be accountable for, and an advocate on behalf of all AP clients, to internal stakeholder organizations including CSI, Sales, Product and Risk.

  • Conduct ongoing reviews of regional decline rates, identification of decline drivers and development of an integrated approach to reducing declines.

  • Understand new rules, products and services as well as industry and technology trends, ensuring proactive management of any impact on authorisation performance to support Visa strategic goals and clientinitiatives

  • Maintain and build rapport with regional peers and
    other teams across Visa Inc. to exchange ideas, learn and leverage best
    practices.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

Professional:
• Regional market knowledge and functional experience in bankcard operations, preferably Visa, supporting highly complex clients and or services
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience and in client-facing roles in the payments industry

Technical:
• Strong knowledge of Visa systems including authorization and clearing systems, client connectivity, Visa

Settlement Service
• Working knowledge of Client business drivers for their operations and processing businesses
• Demonstrated, detailed knowledge of the full breadth of systems, products and services offered by Visa

Business:
• Ability to lead and drive cross-functional ad-hoc team to achieve and exceed established goals and objectives
