Visa's Global Interchange Group sets the financial rate of exchange (i.e., interchange) between issuers and acquirers for various transaction types in order to increase card issuance, encourage card acceptance, and support new products and services as appropriate. Effective management of interchange requires a balancing of the interests among Visa's financial institution customers, merchants, and consumers. Visa's ability to successfully manage this strategic lever enables Visa to grow the network to the benefit of all stakeholders—issuers, acquirers, merchants, and cardholders.
The primary focus of this position is to conduct data analysis in support of the development of interchange rates across the Asia Pacific Region. This position will create, maintain and execute analytics and data models to support modifying existing interchange rates and the introduction of new interchange rates. In addition, the position will develop dashboards and reporting solutions to enable key stakeholders (i.e. country managers, product, MSS) to identify trends.
Perform analysis on Visa data to provide management with historical information on existing rates and determine the potential for new rates. This includes analysis for specific merchants, merchant segments, channels, etc. This includes assessing the cost/benefit analysis for issuers, acquirers, and Visa.
Ensure data integrity and consistency of information as well as organized documentation of results and data sources used
Identify and implement process improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency and reusability of analyses and reports.
Prepare comprehensive quarterly interchange dashboards and interpret data to identify trends and issues.
Manage the interchange compliance program to ensure that clients are qualifying for correct interchange rates. Work with country staff and clients to identify where interchange rates are being incorrectly applied. Track ongoing issues with the Global Interchange team based in California.
2 - 4 years of professional experience preferably in banking, consulting, or finance industries.
Bachelor degree required. Preference in finance, engineering, accounting, mathematics, economics,
or related quantitative field.
Analytical and quantitative skills; able to resolve complex business problems with well-structured analyses
Excel and Power Point proficiency required.
Proven expertise in modeling techniques and managing large data sets
Experience in preparing reports
Must be flexible, self-motivated, able to work independently and capable of delivering to specific deadlines. Must be able to juggle multiple projects and processes and deal with shifting priorities.
Knowledge of Visa business and business intelligence reporting systems is a plus.
