Vice president - San Francisco Innovation Center Operations - Visa

Our San Francisco Innovation Center is Visa’s flagship, state-of-the-art facility that acts as the applied evangelist for Visa’s innovation agenda and industry leadership to global partners. Hosting hundreds of clients and partners annually, the San Francisco Innovation Center is a full-stack team of digital native talent who are passionate about enabling Visa’s most visionary clients to explore and commercialize the highest impact emerging payments experiences and capabilities. The team actively works across financial institutions, merchants, technology partners, and government officials, to share Visa’s insights and to collaborate on new payment solutions that lead the industry.

The VP of San Francisco Innovation Center Operations position is a highly visible and wide-ranging role that regularly collaborates with client executives from around the world and the Visa executive team. This unusual role is the job of a lifetime for you.

The position is based in downtown San Francisco at Visa’s worldwide headquarters office in One Market Plaza.

Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive management and governance of the SF Innovation Center program, leading the team and tools (e.g., Briefing Source, Salesforce) for the entire client demand funnel from intake/scheduling through to onsite engagement delivery.
  • Be the primary leader/host for a high volume of “Discovery” phase client presentations, articulating Visa’s innovation strategy and its perspective on the future of commerce, industry disruptions, and FinTech trends.
  • Engage with Visa executives across business areas to set bespoke client agendas, confirm executive dedications with clients, and compose a library of authoritative content (videos, demos, presentations) that convey Visa’s vision and distinct capabilities.
  • Develop, maintain, and operate the prototypes and experiential installations that represent the "future of payments" to major banking, merchant, and other payment eco-system partners.
  • Lead a collection of special projects that accelerate the Innovation Center agenda, including Innovation Center facilities renovation and refresh projects, an external authority speaker series, and Bay Area design community meet-ups.
  • Work closely with peer Innovation Center VPs in Product, Design, and Technology to drive unified delivery against the Innovation Center agenda.
  • Manage staff that are responsible for the technology and infrastructure throughout the Innovation Center, with particular emphasis on uptime for prototype experience installations.
  • Deliver systematic management reporting on Innovation Center activities and projects.
  • Ensure tight alignment and coordination with the North America business goals
  • Collaborate with peers at Visa’s other global Innovation Centers to standardize models and to share key content and deliverables for re-use.
  • Implement quality processes and measurements (i.e., Net Promoter Scores) for both clients and Visa Account Executives after Innovation Center engagements.
  • Form a team of top talent with very high standards for consistent excellence.
  • Bring to bear the iconic role of the Innovation Center to demonstrate Visa’s Leadership Principles in action.





Qualifications

Qualifications
•    10+ years of experience in financial services, particularly in payments and commerce, to enable nuanced and sophisticated interactions with client senior executives.
•    Significant applied experience running senior level client engagements, demonstrating excellence in communication, executive presence, thought leadership, strong client orientation, and general management savvy.
•    Deep understanding of both Merchant and Issuer business models, industry fundamentals, and trends.
•    Understanding of Visa business and in particular, experience working in the North America Account Executive organization is highly preferred.
•    Passionate about innovation, commerce, technology and the future of payments, etc.
•    Experience in an operational role, managing multi-functional teams to deliver against a comprehensive, multi-stakeholder program.
•    Strong people manager with exceptional interpersonal skills.
•    A natural optimist who brings energy and enthusiasm to the work.
•    Global experience and/or the ability to speak multiple languages a plus.
•    Top tier MBA or equivalent qualification preferred.
