Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Regional Sourcing Manager to lead Marketing Procurement across CEMEA. The individual contributor will have exposure in one or more of the following:

  • Marketing Procurement

  • ATL/BTL Marketing - Sponsorship, Media buying, marketing production, digital

  • Agency performance management

The role forms part of the CEMEA Sourcing organization, and works cross-functionally within Visa to:

  • Lead marketing procurement initiatives

  • Be the marketing subject matter expert

  • Implement and monitor supplier performance management programs 

  • Engage with relevant internal and external stakeholders

The individual will be responsible for aligning to the global marketing category strategy, whilst contributing to the development of local functional strategies within CEMEA (Central Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Business alignment

The role will require an individual with exceptional procurement, business and financial acumen, and a solid understanding of the impact and importance of marketing, how our brand is developed, secured, and leveraged to increase our global footprint to be ‘Everywhere You Want To Be’.

The individual contributes to improved supplier performance and reduced third party risk whilst challenging the status quo. He/she will consider industry best practice, continuous improvement and innovation to maximize return on investment/objective (ROI/ROO).

The individual will also be responsible for analyzing, interpreting and presenting management information (budget, spend, supplier mix) to identify and develop category pipeline opportunities, identify and implement efficiency opportunities to deliver, track and report on an ongoing basis.

Technical Expertise

The individual will require a solid understanding of procurement as a strategic enabler to business growth. He/she will apply the art and science of procurement to align best practices on category development and management. He/she will lead implementation through the 7-step sourcing methodology including but not limited to supplier selection, managing commercial negotiations, contract management, and supplier performance management.

Other key responsibilities will include: Implementing SLA’s, monitoring, tracking and reporting on procurement metrics, updating functional and executive management regularly on supplier performance and improvement opportunities, initiating contracting due diligence, and managing audit remediation plans to resolve disputes, and assisting business managers and operations with supplier on-boarding, invoice processing and payment reconciliations.   

Relationship Management

The individual will build strong relationships with internal business stakeholders including all marketing teams across the geography, financial planning, operations, legal, compliance and risk teams, to deliver solutions within compliance of regulatory and operational requirements.  He/she will also build external relationships with suppliers and partners to enable effective service delivery, continuous improvement and innovation.

He/she will establish communication channels to encourage the formation of clear project scope and milestones, clear understanding of project strategy and expectations. He/she will also act as the single point of contact for all category sourcing initiatives and related enquiries for the region. He/she will interact and align with global sourcing and global marketing teams to develop and drive global solutions with local implementation, whilst engaging across all levels.

Qualifications

  • Marketing procurement experience desired
  • Bachelor’s degree or business equivalent
  • 7-10 years, or greater of solid experience within the financial services industry, or large corporate, spanning the areas of strategic sourcing, category management, commercial management, contract management or procurement management
  • Proven track record, and ability to demonstrate in your application: Successful category management, implementation of SRM programs, Contract and stakeholder management
  • Proven ability to execute independently and operate successfully within a matrix/team structure Ability to interact effectively with external partners, at a senior level including suppliers, clients and strategic partners.
  • Proficient user of all Microsoft products
  • International business experience is as advantage
  • Occasional business travel required
