Job Description

his is a critical leadership role in Visa's Distributed Systems Application Support organization. You will take a lead role in taking critical Visa Business application support to the next level. If you are  looking to challenge yourself this is the role for you. You will don hands on technical role along with providing primary managerial role.

Job Scope

• Provide leadership and direction for application support teams across the globe.

• Recruit, develop, and retain a talented group of technology professionals for this core business support function.

• Collaborate with colleagues in technology departments as well as client support and product offices to establish effective and productive business relationships.

• Lead and provide mentoring, coaching and guidance to talented technologists.

• Improve processes and support methodologies by assessing need and requirements.

• Manage, triage and provide resolutions/solution to client issues and escalations.

• Drive innovation and collaboration in the realm of production support to reduce redundant work and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers responsible for ongoing support of highly complex business applications.

• Work with the team and other interfacing teams to operate within SLAs.

• Take ownership for reviewing SLA, efficiency of throughput of team and recommend improvements and implement them.

• Manage staff, including selection, goal setting, annual reviews, and compensation planning and career development.

• Provide recommendations to management team to increase effectiveness of organization and technology solutions.

• Establish credibility throughout the organization by earning the reputation for being a dedicated leader and change agent.

• Effectively manage cross-functional internal and external team collaboration, and communications.

• Respond to and assist with due diligence and internal / external audit and escalation requests.

• Provide mentoring, coaching and guidance for the team.

• Strive to help team with work-life balance in this very demanding and dynamic environment.

• Provide reports, statistics and data to senior management as needed on regular or adhoc basis.

• Provide technical support to clients and team as needed in troubleshooting and resolving issues.

• Provide escalation/managerial support 24*7 as required.

Professional

Engineering and/or business degree preferred

10-15 years working experience - experience in payments, production support, system integration preferred


Technical

Solid knowledge of payment technologies with an engineering thinking mindset

Strong experience with Middleware, Java Application, Unix and Windows Systems

Strong experience supporting:

Apache Web Servers, TCServers, MVC framework, IIS, and IBM-IHSweb server

JavaScript, Powershell, Unix Scripting

Advance Database Experience with SQL skills (DB2, MSSQL)

Experience with SAML, Federation, Siteminder and LDAP

Experience with ITIL, BMC Remedy and ticketing workflows.

Experience with Splunk, Nagios, Bigbrother, Munin, Cacti


Business

10+ years track record of relevant work experience and a Computer Science or related technical discipline is required.

3+ years of people management experience working

Prior experience must include leadership role for mission-critical system applications supporting high transaction systems.

Must be high impact individual with a technology background and the ability to engage in high bandwidth conversations with executives.

Team player and passionate for building a culture of innovation and flawless execution. Technical hands on skills, ideally in multiple technology stacks.

Demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, grow and retain high-caliber talent at scale. Experienced organizing, running, supporting, and growing large technology organization.

Demonstrate strong skills influencing, negotiating and communicating.
