Job Description
Successful candidate will be part of an experienced Test Engineering team responsible for testing Extended Access (EA), Visa Message Gateway (VMG) and Vital Sign (VS) both of which are critical applications that control transaction flow between endpoints and VisaNet Integrated Payment (V.I.P.)
The Staff Quality Assurance Engineer for Network Processing Platform & Reliability Test Engineering team will be based in Foster City. The successful candidate will support Test Engineering efforts for the Gateway Services and work with other peer Test Engineering organizations to ensure high levels of software quality and seamless code releases.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with leads to design, develop,execute, and maintain automated test suites
Enhance test automation framework in support of Continuous Integration
Perform hands-on testing using Linux, Unix, and Windows platform
Document and publish test plans, test designs, test results, and analysis to product and development team
Collaborate with Development and Product teams to analyze, debug and resolve design and code issues
Collaborate with team members in US and Singapore locations to meet project deliverables
Support cross-functional teams in integration test efforts
Develop software to augment existing test automation tool
Setup, configure, and maintain test environments
Work independently with minimal guidance
Work closely with software developers and production support to perform all levels of testing, as well as be an integral part of solving complex system level challenges
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or a related field is required
8+ years equivalent combination of experience in Software testing of Unix/Linux based applications
5+ years of software development or equivalent test automation experience
Excellent coding skills in Java
Experience on Linux and UNIX hands-on concepts including shell scripting
Experience with software development tools (Eclipse,Intellij, Jira, Git, Ant)
Experience with software test framework and tools (Cucumber, Selenium, Junit)
Experience with software builds, testing and continuous integration tools preferably Jenkins
Solid experience testing high availability backend applications
Fundamental understanding of object-oriented programming, distributed systems, web technology (Jetty, Apache), and network protocols (HTTP, TCP/IP)
Basic database knowledge is a plus
Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, work independently with minimal supervision and work cohesively as part of a team.
Strong oral and written communication skills
