Job Description

As a Director of Data Platform, you provide strategic architecture leadership to project architects and your product partners, hands on development and mentorship to other team Product Development team members on large and complex projects for merchant payment management solutions in the realms of Data Platform & Analytics. You are a subject matter expert in the fields of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and data modeling and applying it to create business insights. You understand the business imperatives tied to these strategic projects. You provide technology leadership and are the technical expert on strategic projects, drive the release strategy and guide the delivery of strategic projects aligned to business strategy on innovative payment acceptance, integrated commerce management,  powerful risk management and marketing tools. You maintain awareness of dependencies between projects and delivery vision, while ensuring engineering excellence to the five nines. You build the strategy for your teams to architect, design and deliver the next wave of enterprise FinTech innovation.

Key Responsibilities

·       Drives the architecture for key cross team / cross product development projects (via architecture/design documents and developing code key modules).

·       Establishes software development patterns and best practices via examples and shipping code.

·       Ensures that all relevant project teams follow a common set of principles and patterns and utilize a standard set of technology frameworks and libraries.

·       Provides leadership across the architecture community to ensure solutions are built in alignment with platform principles and standards.

·       Mentors and builds world-class high-performing engineering and data science teams.

·      Applies architecture best practices that helps increase execution velocity.

·      Develops architectures that are inherently secure, robust, scalable, modular, API-centric and global.

·      Influences technology selection for the enterprise.

·      Defines deployment topology by working with peers across the technology organization.

·      Optimizes use of Visa’s Platforms & Solutions.

·      Demonstrates thought leadership through presentations and teaching across Visa.

Architects, designs and develops, along with a group of other developers, the future of the Data Platform as it applies to Analytics, Benchmarking, Data Science, Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics.

Qualifications:

Experienced technology leader with a minimum of 15+ years of software development experience including 10+ years of application architecture experience with deep technology expertise in the following:- Extensive
experience on architecture design of large scale Data platforms, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Analytics and application with simple solutions.

5+ years of experince in managing a group of team members and also work cross functionally and cross geographic locations in delivering technology solutions around data.

Extensive hands on design/coding experience/skills using all the latest technologies using for managing data platforms, machine learning & analytics. SQL/noSQL technology.

Web Services (REST/SOAP).

Service Oriented Architecture.

Big data and cloud computing technologies including Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Data modeling etc.

Have a successful track record of leading architecture work
for large scale projects that represent broad strategic initiatives meeting
quantifiable business objectives and resulting in tangible impact for the
organization. Demonstrated expertise in leveraging agile and other development
methodologies.

Strong at technical goal setting for a project with
actionable success metrics. Good knowledge and experience on measuring a
service from user experience angle.

Strong at identifying problems, solving complex problems with simple solutions.

Think strategically: See patterns and relationships in
information and events; clarify and simplify complex information; anticipate
trends and possibilities that may lead to new business opportunities;
consistently think and act "ahead of the curve"; anticipate and
effectively respond with urgency to immediate opportunities; executes plans
vigorously and with flexibility; operate proactively; identify and address
long-term opportunities.

Demonstrated proficiency and experience in one or more of
the following areas: application architecture, solutions architecture, software
systems architecture.

Self-motivated, fast learner, with good understanding of
related advanced/new technology. Keep up

with the technology development in the related areas in the industry, which
could be leveraged to enhance current architectures and build durable new ones.

Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, and
interaction skills, including ability to effectively communicate architectural
issues and concepts to multiple organization levels and executive management.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical
discipline required; advanced degree is a plus.

Strong leadership and team player.

Strong on driving for results and self-motivated.

Payment industry experience is a plus.

Risk and/or authentication experience is a big plus.
