Job Description

Visa’s Digital Solutions and Deployment is a client facing group within the India and South Asia Product organization that sets Visa’s public digital innovation agenda, manages the development and delivery of Visa’s digital solutions in partnership with clients, industry leading brands and technology platform providers

The Senior Director, Head of Digital Solutions and Deployment - India and South Asia has primary ownership and accountability for bringing to market new Visa developed technology to ensure Visa continues hold its leadership position in driving the growth of digital payments in the region.

This role requires an experienced product management professional who has demonstrated thought leadership in development and management of the digital strategy for large organizations. The Digital Solutions and Deployment team works closely with Client Relationship Management/Account Executives team and Merchant Sales and Solutions teams as well as other stakeholders such as Processing, CyberSource, Risk, Finance, Marketing, etc. teams to deliver on projects that are typically highly complex, strategic and cross-functional in nature.

The right candidate must possess solid technical and functional understanding of payment systems, protocols and frameworks, and this must be balanced with business acumen and commercial instincts. Familiarity with technologies and systems used in payments, mobile and e-commerce; specifically, in areas of 3-D Secure, EMV, authentication, NFC, tokenization, remote payments, money transfers and push payments, as also a working knowledge of system interconnection methods (APIs, SDKs, ISO messages etc.). The candidate must also have strong coordination and project management skills so as to be able to effectively deliver on large cross-functional projects working with colleagues and partners across multiple geographies and time zones. The role also entails the development and management of a team of mid to senior product management professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Owner of digital strategy for the market; primary owner of GTM for new products and product development roadmaps within the India and South Asia region for Visa Inc.
  • Identify strategic opportunities for Visa capabilities through a strong understanding of various customer segment business needs, leveraging Visa solutions across multiple platforms
  • Build and manage a high performing team of independent, curious, engineering minded professionals (4-6 mid to senior team members)
  • Working hand-in-hand with colleagues from other functional areas the role holder must be a catalyst for development of new solutions leveraging Visa’s and external platform capabilities
  • Thought leadership with internal and external stake holders including participation in industry events, regulator and government engagement to formulate strategy to drive regulation change where needed
  • Partner with Account Executives to develop and execute account strategies, objectives and plans to increase revenue and market share for strategic FI and non-FI accounts
  • Provide inputs into country pricing strategies, resourcing requirements, IP management, development of processing strategy, brand building
  • Proactively educate the Visa organization on market developments, emerging themes and partnership opportunities
  • Track competition activity and continually be focused on ensuring that Visa’s digital products and solutions deployed in the market meet all relevant consumer and merchant payment needs
  • Foster in-depth and productive relationships at all levels with the client and the Visa organization

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 13-15 years’ business experience in the payments, mobile, software, hardware or technology services industry with a track record of progressively taking on senior roles
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is a plus
  • Experience in managing a broad portfolio of products/solutions (preferably digital) through the entire lifecycle; demonstrated leadership in new product development and deployment 
  • People management experience

  • Demonstrated track record of planning, managing and delivering on complex cross functional projects from conceptualization to launch
  • Proven record of implementing strategic initiatives, policies and operational decisions
  • Strategic thinking and thought leadership
  • Understanding of, and experience working with, payment technologies related to eCommerce, Tokenization, EMV, NFC, Mobile, IOT etc.
  • Ability to work within a complex and often ambiguous environment, and to influence senior management and other relevant parties
  • Executive presence; strong written and oral communication-including large-group presentations
