Job Description

Seeking a finance professional to assume a leadership role within the US deals team to support contract negotiations and manage a team of analysts also supporting deals used to secure Visa USA issuing sales volume.  The position will work with Visa sales, product and legal teams to develop detailed pricing and incentive proposals for various clients, prepare financial models, support client negotiation, and
review and approve incentive contract language. Contractual counterparties will include issuers, merchant partners, and other brand decision makers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own the development of detailed financial models and analyses to evaluate client incentive contract offers, utilizing and producing different financial outputs as appropriate (including Visa P&L, projected cash flow and amortization schedules).

  • Manage deals through the offer approval and execution process on behalf of Finance, coordinating and supporting various internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate and partner with Visa’s Sales and Legal teams to provide support and direction regarding appropriate contract structures and terms.

  • Participate in contract negotiations (external and internal) on behalf of Visa Finance to insure balanced trade-offs and concessions during negotiations, and find win / win outcomes

  • Proactively identify and communicate business issues related to incentive structures, contract language, and incentive negotiations.

  • Provide education and training to finance, sales, legal, and other internal Visa stakeholders around financial considerations for deal modeling and contract language.

  • Understand and improve deal modeling tools, processes, and staff resources to improve effectiveness and impact entire team.

  • Manage, lead and develop staff of analysts, providing coaching and challenging assignments and projects to develop team analytical, judgment and influence skills.

  • Experience in investment, valuation, or transactional analysis.

    influence both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor teammates and staff; provide financial education to sales and other internal stakeholders as needed.

  • Able to interact effectively with senior Visa management and senior external executives; facilitate and lead strategic and financial analysis discussions as needed

  • Self motivated.  Ability to manage workload independently, meet multiple overlapping deadlines, and manage conflicting priorities and help keep staff on point to meet deliverables as well.

Project management

  • Ability to effectively translate data into actionable information to drive results.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF.

Experience

  • 6-10 years of work experience, preferably within the financial, investment banking, or investment community.

  • Financial transaction analysis experience or pricing experience a plus

  • BA/BS degree required.  Accounting/Finance/Economics major from a top tier institution a plus.

  • MBA is an advantage.

  • Strong interest in/knowledge of the payments industry
