Job Description

In a fast changing payment industry landscape, EMV Chip technology remains the foundation of many successful payment innovations from Visa. Visa contactless, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and many other current and upcoming mobile solutions are built on top of the Chip infrastructure which Visa and its Issuing and Acquiring partners have rolled out over two decades. Continuously upgrading and refreshing this infrastructure and expanding its reach to newer merchant segments in preparation for a digital future is crucial for the success of Visa in the coming days. Transit is one such crucial merchant segment, which is expected to rely heavily on EMV contactless products as its ticketing solution.
To lead all the Chip and Contactless related activities within the region, Visa Asia Pacific Products organization is looking for a talented individual with vision, passion and determination for the position of Director, Chip and Contactless, Asia Pacific. From providing technology and high quality implementation support, this person will cover a range of existing and new product functions. The person will also work with the vendor partners to ensure that they are ready to deliver solutions required by the industry.

 


Responsibilities
• Lead the Chip and Contactless solution development and deployment within Asia Pacific region by collaborating with product colleagues in Asia Pacific, Technology Centre’s of Excellence in San Francisco and London, as well as industry partners.
• Define and review Visa business rules, technical specifications and product requirements in the Asia Pacific region related to Chip and Contactless to ensure that regional market requirements and interests are taken into account in global product plans. Manage the program execution of enterprise wide initiatives to enhance Visa’s business.
• Lead and support Visa’s in-country teams, clients and vendor partners as the Chip and Contactless technical subject matter expert.
• Lead the development and ensure the readiness of development tools to support high quality Chip and Contactless solution deployment.
• Manage and facilitate the business requirements of internal stakeholders from country teams to global product office and external stakeholders from clients to industry partners to ensure products and solutions deployed in Asia Pacific align with Visa’s digital strategy.
• Lead the development of and be the business owner of Visa’s Chip and Contactless strategy and roadmap for Asia-Pacific. Communicate to internal and external stakeholders including clients, regulators and industry partners on a one to one basis and at industry forums.
• Be the regional business owner for Chip and Contactless product, services, tools and technology, and make the appropriate decisions for the benefit of the Asia Pacific market.
• Track issues as appropriate and ensure that they are resolved successfully, and provide periodic management reporting. Present as appropriate to the Asia-Pacific leadership on critical issues impacting the business.
 

Qualifications

• Engineering or Business degree preferred – Masters advantageous
• At least 12-years payments industry experience including client/partner management with 5 year’s direct experience and success working in an Engagement Management or Integration position

• 7-years’ of in-depth experience working with EMV chip technology
• Strong ability to analyze technical specifications and explain complex technical concepts in simple language
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to drive consensus in cross-regional and cross-functional teams
• Be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to influence and communicate effectively across functional lines to ensure participants and stakeholders deliver according to schedule and budget  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively

• Ability to be creative and manage competing priorities to achieve desired end state

• Good understanding of payment networks or credit card processing systems
• Process-oriented problem solver who can adapt within a multi-tasking environment
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
