Job Description

•       Produce effective reporting of DPD program status, risks and issues, dependencies, and milestones, ensuring the right content and metrics are captured and communicated to key stakeholders and senior leaders.  This requires close collaboration with Program Managers and other functional leads on a weekly basis and skills to assess, synthesize, summarize, and ensure quality and consistency of content across programs, as well as consultation and support to program teams in effective status reporting at various organization levels.

•       Author articles about DPD programs and accomplishments for internal company publications using superior writing skills and high standards and tone appropriate for business and technology executives. Collaborate with teams to identify relevant facts and details and synthesize them into a cohesive communication.

•       Identify, propose, and implement process improvements with a view to establish best practices and operating models. This requires an ability to analyze the "as is" state, identify best practices based on Visa and industry standards, and recommend and implement the ideal "to be" state for the process. This includes creation of all necessary templates and tools, documentation, communication, and training of teams based on the process and operating playbook.

•       Collaborate with program teams in the implementation of repositories and tools consistently across the PMO. Determine requirements and standards, implement, and maintain divisional and program document repositories and systems to facilitate cross-team, cross-division collaboration using SharePoint and other collaboration tools including Confluence.

•       Plan and deliver technology events including all Tech Talks, hackathons and technology showcases.

Qualifications

•         BA/BS degree is required with preference for degrees in Engineering, Business or related fields. MS/MBA is a plus.

•         7+ years combined project / program / portfolio management experience, with at least 3 years as project manager, delivering complex initiatives. Solid understanding of project management techniques, methodologies and best practices is required. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge and experience with all aspects of software development life cycle.

•         Outstanding written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly skilled in the creation of presentations, dashboards and other reporting mechanisms. High attention to detail with ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and distill it in crisp, clear language appropriate for a variety of audiences including technology and business executives.

•         Strong process orientation and demonstrated ability to define and document new or improved portfolio and program management processes, templates and tools, and create a wide variety of reporting mechanisms for leadership, stakeholders, and team members.

•         Demonstrated understanding of process improvement programs and processes, with experience driving them successfully within technology organizations highly preferred. Background in "operational excellence" and/or Six Sigma is a plus.

•         Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and SharePoint), Tableau and HTML required. Working knowledge of Agile tools like Rally or Jira required.  As a member of the Technology organization, technical savvy, with desire and ability to learn new software is a must.
