Job Description

As senior engineer in the Secure Remote Commerce (SRC) checkout UI foundations team, you will be responsible for the front-end foundational components, frameworks, and tools for the next-generation platform for secure, interoperable mobile payments. This platform services top merchants, payment providers, and banks, and extends Visa Checkout, which is used by tens of millions of users across 5 continents and 20+ countries. The technologies we use include React, Redux, Node, Webpack, Jest, just to name a few. We collaborate closely with each other, are passionate about excellence in technical design and coding, and integrate continuous learning and innovation in our development process.

About you
You are passionate about designing and developing well-architected foundational components, framework, and tools for mobile Web applications. You enjoy coding and write well-organized code with high efficiency. You do not compromise on user experience, quality and performance while meeting the business objectives of the organization. You enjoy working in a team collaboratively to solve challenges together and help each other grow.

Responsibilities

  • Build front-end components, frameworks, and tools shared across multiple Web applications using React/Redux based front-end stack
  • Work closely with others (product, design, and other technology teams) in multi-functional organization in an Agile environment
  • Architect technical solutions that support the needs and objectives of both the product roadmap and the technology roadmap
  • Write technical requirements and document technical design for front-end components, frameworks, and tools
  • Design and build engineering solutions for performance, extensibility, availability, reliability, and security
  • Develop with mobile-first approach for multiple mobile form factors
  • Maintain high coding standards and inculcate best practices such as BDD, TDD, unit testing, peer reviews
  • Mentor fellow teammates and provide technical domain expertise

Qualifications

Requirements unless otherwise specified:

  • Expertise in JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React/Redux, Angular, etc.)
  • Excellent project management skills for the planning/execution of self's and team's work
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working on cross-browser, cross-device, hybrid apps
  • Experience working with testing tools such as Jest and Enzyme
  • Experience with front-end build/publish tools like npm and webpack
  • B.S/M.S in Computer Science or related field
  • Familiarity with Web accessibility is a plus
  • Familiarity with Java and Apache Tomcat is a plus
