Responsibilities 

He/She must:

• Work closely with the Open Visa Net and interfacing teams, to perform performance planning, estimations and in establishing performance goals
• Develop and influence non-functional requirements at an early stage in feature development
• Design for reliability and quality of service, through performance modelling, design and implementation
• Engage in design and code inspections, to understand performance constraints and provide recommendations for improvement
• Own, trouble shoot and fine tune production performance incidents
• Monitor Post deployment performance.
• Develop and own guidelines and best practices for improved performance

At Visa’s Network Processing - OpenVisaNet team, we are further modernizing our stack to build leading edge, full-service global payment network processing solutions based on open source technologies. Another key focus is to ensure our infrastructure, platform and applications continue to deliver good and stable performance at all times.

As part of our Performance Engineering (PE) operations, we are looking for Performance Engineers who can work closely with our project teams to test and establish performance benchmarks,  understand performance bottlenecks if any,  perform performance tuning activities and design for post deployment performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• An engineering degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Must have 3 – 6 years of industry experience in Performance Engineering
• Experience with performance modelling and testing tools such as JMeter, JProfiler, JConsole and MAT
• Hands-on with scalability and performance testing on a host of technologies such as Web Objects, HTTP/HTTPS
• Have a good understanding of system environments such as shared resources and services, CPU, memory, storage and networks.
• Experience managing concurrency, arrival rates and scheduling including identifying transactions and workflows to realize TPS goals and rates
• Perform log analysis and production monitoring
• Sound knowledge of scalability, capacity and reliability requirements and their influence on system performance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior knowledge or experience of financials/payments industry will be an added advantage
• Proficiency in working on algorithms, data structure and production trouble shooting
• Expertise in analyzing global distributed systems and problem solving
