At Visa’s Network Processing - OpenVisaNet team, we are further modernizing our stack to build leading edge, full-service global payment network processing solutions based on open source technologies.As part of our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) operations, our goal is to bring together people with a wide variety of technical backgrounds and encourage them to think big and collaborate to combine software and systems engineering to build and maintain large scale, distributed, fault tolerant systems. The team owes our commitment to our customers towards keeping an eye on our internal as well customer facing business critical infrastructure and platform, with ensuring highest levels of reliability and uptime. It is also instrumental in optimizing existing systems and building robust automation capabilities.

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineering Manager who can work closely with the SRE team to build expertise and talent through leveraging product development, DevOps, and production support capabilities. Additionally, the manager will  oversee building tools to automate production support activities that enable efficiency and productivity of the team. 

Responsibilities 

He/She must:

• Lead a team of software/ systems engineers on projects that impact billions of Visa customers and be directly responsible for Open VisaNet services successful uptime records. 
• Own the end to end availability and performance of our mission critical services and provide automations that prevent fault recurrence.
• Have a proven track record of fostering engineering excellence and improving organization efficiency.
• Understand SDLC, DevOps, systems monitoring, reliability & high availability engineering and designs.
• Be comfortable to articulate and present solutions to large groups of people & Sr. Leadership team.
• Have proven leadership capability in people management, mentoring and helping career growth of engineers, building the next pipeline of expertise and empowering teams to constantly raise the bar of service excellence to our customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• An engineering degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Must have 10+ industry experience in software development in one or more of the following: C, C++, Java, Go, and/or Python, Ruby. 
• Experience in Distributed Systems, and expertise in Monitoring Systems
• Experience managing engineering teams on large scale projects with technical deep dives into code and systems management.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior knowledge or experience of financials/payments industry will be an added advantage
• Proficiency in working on algorithms, data structure and production trouble shooting
• Expertise in analyzing global distributed systems and problem solving
• Experience with Distributed Technologies such as Kafka, Cassandra, Prometheus, Elasticsearch etc.
