Job Description

Visa has an extraordinarily rich data set that spans more than 3 billion cards globally and captures more than 100 billion transactions per year. Making this data more usable and accessible to our clients, in a responsible way, is key to enabling the growth of electronic payments. The focus of the Client APIs and Platforms team is building a scalable service architecture and products that provide Visa’s diverse, global client and partner base simple access to data on their own transactions, benchmarks, and predictive models.  We are looking for a leader who is equally passionate about the opportunity to use Visa’s rich data to tackle meaningful business problems and developing world class data talent. You will join a global Data Product team of data enthusiasts that includes data scientists, product managers, data architects, and many more.

This role reports into the SVP of Global Data Products and has a team of 8 Product Managers. The position is based either at Visa's headquarter in the San Francisco Bay Area (Foster City, CA) or our office in the Washington, DC Metro Area (Ashburn, VA).

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide out of the box thought leadership on the most effective ways to deliver data to a diverse set of global clients in a scalable, well controlled, services oriented architecture.
  • Use stellar storytelling to convey the “why” behind our products and architecture
  • Develop and recruit a world class team of data oriented product managers
  • Using a disciplined approach, continually improve our understanding of the markets’ needs and priorities and integrate that into our roadmap
  • See opportunities where others see challenges in terms of the breadth and variety of use cases for Visa data
  • Relentlessly support consumer choice and control over how data on their transactions is used

Qualifications

Can you take on the responsibilities described above? Then please apply! Independent of years of experience or educational background, the successful candidate will likely have a mix of the following qualifications:

  • Experience with APIs, a service architecture, and / or building technology products that scale across a diverse set of customers
  • A strong understanding of Agile development methodologies (a passion for driving Agile is a plus)
  • Strong leadership experience including the ability to develop talent from within and recruit talent that can inject new perspectives and experiences
  • Great collaboration skills across a diverse set of functions including technology and sales
  • 5+ years in Product Management, 10+ years professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in analytical or technology field such as operations research, economics, computer science or many others (graduate degree is a plus)
  • Previous exposure to financial services, credit cards or merchant analytics is a plus, but not required
