The Digital and Mobile's Product Developnment Visa Checkout Enrollment team is looking for a Lead Software Engineer who will be responsible for design, development, and execution of large-scale high volume checkout services. Extensive Java and REST development experience and team leadership skills are a must. In this position, you are a passionate and talented developer with problem-solving abilities and coding/testing/debugging skills who can work in a dynamic environment. You must be dedicated to delivering production-ready code in short timeframes and willing to go above and beyond when needed. You must be a great team player that can help mentor the team.

Key Responsibilities
•Work closely with product and architecture teams to design and deliver new solutions based on use cases and business requirements
•Manage scrum team and coordinate ceremonies with the team
•Review code and accountability for team's development activities
•Participate in proof of concepts and other technical evaluations of new technologies
•Stay abreast of emerging technologies and proactively assess and evaluate the adoption thereof into the organization
•Mentor team members and be an inspirational leader
•Deliver quality code by ensuring best practices in security and automation

•BS in Computer Science or related field
•10 years Java and J2EE development
•Experience with web services standards and related technologies (HTTP, Spring, XML, JSON, REST)
•Experience with messaging systems a nice to have (Kafka or MQ)
•Strong foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, design patterns
•Mastery of the Java programming language
•Solid understanding and experience of database technologies such as SQL, JPA, and Oracle DB
•Experience with development of application/platforms supporting Security requirements
•Proven problem solving skills and an ability to respond resourcefully to new demands, priorities and challenges
•Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively
•Ability and desire to learn new skills and take on new initiatives
