Job Description

Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Area

  • Manages forecasting/budgeting process for the designated Functions Including Marketing and Products within CEMEA ensuring that the business teams deliver a timely and realistic financial projection that aligns with corporate strategy and priorities.
  • Reviews business planning assumptions to achieve forecast accuracy and contributes to the advisory of appropriate “finance handicap” to refine the accuracy of the results.
  • Contributes to the development and communication of insights/risks relating to forecast/budgets and performance to targets to the CEMEA Finance Planning team and  work with the Global/Country FBPs to ensure alignment of cross-matrix reporting and budgets.
  • Provides best practice advice to Function and management teams and on finance related areas including accounting policies and other compliance requirements.
  • Manages ongoing reporting and review of financial performance to targets with the Finance leaders and functional teams, providing advice to help shape spending plans and re-prioritize funding as required in response to changing business conditions.
  • Uses finance policies, procedures, forecasts and budgets to support alignment functional teams actuals to their submitted forecasts.
  • Highlight significant variations in expenses to finance and global function stakeholders.
  • Financial advisory to Global Function head/managers on finance related matters of a difficult nature.

Strategic Nature, Management Accountability, & Scope

  • Finance specialist professional.
  • Recommends Finance best practice along with Finance Director to functional heads which impacts the function across the CEMEA region.
  • Manages FBP projects forecasting & budgeting for respective Global Functions for the CEMEA region.
  • Solves complex finance problems taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.

Decision Making & Complexity

  • Provide challenge to functional teams on their submitted forecasts.
  • Reviews business planning assumptions to achieve forecast accuracy and contributes to the advisory of appropriate “finance handicap” to refine the accuracy of the results.
  • Highlight significant variations in expenses to finance and global function stakeholders.
  • Financial advisory to Global Function head/managers on finance related matters of a difficult nature.
  • Interprets finance issues and recommends best practice.
  • Decisions impact the ability of the global function to deliver and impacts financial results across CEMEA.
  • Works independently with guidance in only the most complex situations.
  • Depth and breadth of financial expertise primarily focused on execution.

Reporting Relationships & Interactions

  • Role is based in the CEMEA Hub, Dubai office, reporting into the Director CEMEA FP&A for Regional Marketing and Products, based in the same office.
  • Main stakeholders are key Functional Leadership team based across the CEMEA region.
  • Close liaison and support to Global FBP of the designated functional teams.
  • This individual is expected to interact effectively with various levels of Visa management and their multi regional staff.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills will be required to address on-going needs of a complex, matrix reporting structure, and multinational organization.
  • Multicultural sensitivity and interpersonal relationship management skills are essential including the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications

Required Experience (education, skills - professional/technical/business)

Professional

  • Bachelor degree from a top-tier school, preferably Finance and Accounting.
  • Qualified CPA  from recognized professional body.
  • At least 5 years Finance work experience – mastery in core finance skills & competencies and demonstrated experience with financial projects of a difficult nature, preferably in a multinational company.
  • Exposure to financial services, retail banking, cards business or electronic payments is preferred.

Technical

  • Expert skills in Microsoft applications, especially Excel & PowerPoint.
  • User knowledge of TM1 and Hyperion desired.
  • Practical knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Experience with FCPA guidelines and processes is preferred.
  • Require advanced knowledge of financial modelling (designing and diagnosing).
  • Business English, written & spoken.
  • Ability to learn and master Visa specific tools.
