Imagine working on solutions that impact Visa’s branding and help to drive preference among cardholders, merchants, financial institutions and other stakeholders. Visa’s Marketing Systems team is looking for an experienced Front End Senior Software Engineer who will be responsible for developing and supporting web and mobile applications/services for public users worldwide. These applications have to provide good user experience around the clock for a high volume of public users to fulfil marketing requirements of diverse countries and languages. This is a great opportunity to make a huge impact to Visa’s brand and work on leading open standards technologies and services.

Responsibilities

·        Design and develop Front End for high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance

·        Collaborate with team to integrate web services, document and test business use cases

·        Develop, configure and deploy releases in Dev/QA/Production environments in an Agile Scrum

·        Set up automated build and deployment with Git, Maven, Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline

·        Quality assurance and test automation with SonarQube, CheckStyle, PMD, etc.      

·        Security review in SSDLC (using CheckMarx), and analysis of penetration test findings for timely remediation and closure

·        Work with limited direction, within a complex environment, to drive delivery of solutions and meet service level agreements, including incident escalation outside standard working hours

·        Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science is required. Post graduate degree is a plus.
• 3 to 5 years of commercial experience in web software development and support including:
  • Agile development with continuous integration and deployment pipeline
  • Software configuration management for automated build, test and deployment tools
  • Secure software development life cycle with analysis of findings from scans
  • Code quality review and rectification of bugs and performance bottlenecks
  • Application issue/impact analysis for problem resolution with correction of error
  • DevOps experience/skill for monitoring and continuous improvement
• Strong proficiency in:
  • Open Web technologies for front-end development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, etc.) for integration/map to back-end web services & infrastructure
    • CSS and JavaScript frameworks (example: Bootstrap, JQuery, Angular)
    • Build tools (example: Grunt), pre-processors (example: SASS, LESS), minify and compression, templates, testing
• Content Management System and/or Adobe AEM development
• Network technologies addressing application availability and security including DNS, security certificates, as well as edge devices such as firewalls, load balancing routers, CDNs, etc.

Other supplementary skills to perform the role well:

·        Knowledge of encryption standards and algorithms for securing confidential information at rest

·        Competencies in modern development web languages such as Python

·        Knowledge of Social Media and Open standard web services API/SDK for service integration

·        Experience in web and mobile content/data localization for different markets, e.g. multi-lingual web configuration and mobile language pack for double-byte Asian languages and Arabic

·        Standard Apache web, Tomcat Java application servers configuration for web applications

·        Knowledge of mobile web design for Apple iOS and Google Android 

·        Work exposure and knowledge in performance modeling software
