As a member or the End User Systems engineering team, the Test Engineer will report to the QA Manager and will be responsible for quality product deliverables for the systems and services supported by the team. The successful candidate will be required to assist in defining global hardware standards, certifying software packages and assisting in the overall design and architecture of end user technologies.

Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Analyze application functionality against business requirements and work with vendors, stakeholders, and end users in the certification process to ensure applications meet business requirements as well as technical and security requirements.

  • Test and certify new versions of OS builds (Windows and Mac), software packages, security & productivity tools for end-user workstations 

  • Test and Certify new client-side hardware and drivers for compatibility and usability in Visa environment

  • Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks with Windows and Mac workstations

  • Evaluate new releases, fixes, security updates and hotfixes for supported applications and perform necessary QC and certification for installation on all supported workstations platforms. 

  • Create and maintain documentation for supported applications to include detailed certification processes and procedures, products certified, certification scripts, QC and findings, installation and maintenance scripts. 

  • Work with various support groups, technicians, and other SME's in reviewing certifications of new applications. Perform turn-over procedures for certified applications. 

  • Log and track application certification using defined processes 

  • Support T1/T2 technicians on as need basis during service Pilots

  • Assist with vulnerability remediation of workstations on need basis

Qualifications

 

  • 3-5 years of experience in software testing and/or development (Hardware certification experience is a plus)

  • Working knowledge of current Windows and Mac OS is required.

  • Complete understanding of quality assurance methodologies, deliverables, processes, strategies, techniques to deliver a quality work.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities and sustain a high level of performance when scrutinized. Proactive thinking with a 'can do' attitude

  • Experience creating automation scripts in any scripting language.

  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Bigfix, SCCM or JAMF a plus.

  • Experience working in an agile development environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with management, IT and Business partners.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to exercise independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is required. Advanced degree is a plus.
