Job Description

The Client Incentive Operations team is responsible for managing Client Incentive and Merchant Acceptance Incentive agreements.  We determine the accounting treatment of the incentives in accordance with US GAAP and ensure compliance with contractual terms on executed Client and Merchant Agreements.  This includes assessment of the contingent liability clauses.  We build financial models to calculate the incentive payments to our clients and coordinate with other teams within the organization to process the client payments. 

Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly analyze complex contract language and implement financial models and monitoring tools for contingent contractual obligations related to Issuer and Merchant Incentive agreements
  • Identify and lead the development of in-depth and well thought-out analyses to assess current and future financial obligation by researching revenue/fee and incentive drivers and performing data analysis across multiple source systems.
  • Monitor and analyze contingent contractual related conditions and communicate findings to stakeholders which includes recording of necessary accounting journals, process financial obligation payments and completion of quarterly contract compliance reporting.
  • Lead large regulatory compliance projects e.g. Durbin Net Compensation tests, by thoroughly understanding regulatory requirements and Visa established methodologies and principles, building financial models with data inputs from multiple stakeholders and internal data systems.   Prepare summary of the process and test results to present to management.
  • Assume liaison role between Client Incentive Contract Compliance team and external and internal audit teams to ensure SOX key controls are operating effectively and to coordinate all related activities.
  • Partner with Billing Team to analyze billing lines for pricing changes and potential cost certainty impact to issuers/acquirers
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders in Sales, Strategy/Pricing, FP&A, Rev. Op. and Merchant & Issuer Incentive teams to assess whether there are contractual obligations.  Assist in the resolution of related issues and discrepancies.
  • The candidate will interact with various levels of management across the organization as well as with external clients. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are required as cross-functional projects occur on a regular basis
  • Provide ad-hoc analytical supports to internal and external parties

Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be extremely comfortable working with large amounts of data and with reviewing intricate contract language
  • BA/BS degree required with accounting, finance and/or economics major
  • Two to Five years of experience in financial analysis and modeling with progressively increasing responsibility; payment card or banking industry experience preferred
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, ability to function well independently with minimum supervision as well as in a team, and comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Extremely detail oriented, conscientious, thorough and accurate
  • Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office and possess advanced Excel skills
  • Strong business analysis skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
