Job Description

Seasoned software engineering professional responsible for defining, and managing the strategy and supporting suite of tools and procedures that drive continuous operational excellence in development execution. Role is responsible for strategy and implementation of standards that apply to all Networking Processing applications and engineering teams. The individual will apply a mix of software, test and release engineering along with operational knowledge, expertise, and innovation to improve engineering discipline and drive operational efficiency improvements across all phases of development.

Responsibilities

  • Strong management and leadership for direct reports with capacity to mentor and coach engineering staff.
  • Strong leadership to influence and drive engagement across partner teams
  • Definition and tracking of development maturity across partner teams
  • Implementation and tracking of key metrics for all phases of development lifecycle
  • Assessment and implementation of CI/CD across key applications
  • Assessment, definition and implementation of test automation across key applications
  • Creating and management of test data generation tools
  • Reporting of security metrics and management of ‘shift-left’ initiatives to introduce security practices further upstream in the development lifecycle
  • Definition, development, and management of reporting dashboards and reports
  • Definition, development, and management environment setup automation tools
  • Define and implement highly reliable and secure infrastructure solutions that enable environment automation
  • Manage multi-million dollar budgets related to projects and operations
  • Manage and balance multiple projects and tasks in order to manage to deliverable date

 

Qualifications

- At least a BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IS, or other related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Software development and 3+ years of management experience.

- Proven record of accomplishment in conceptualizing, implementing and driving engagement across multiple application teams with regard to development and test methodologies, tools, processes and practices.

- Demonstrated strong knowledge of software development methodologies and tools in open systems (front end and back end). Mainframe experience is a plus.

- Demonstrated strong knowledge of release management, integration and deployment tooling and practices, and reliability engineering practices.

- Experience in data analytics and AI (rules engine and machine-learning implementation) is a huge plus.

- Knowledgeable in the open source tools more commonly used in CI/CD processes: source code management/repositories, orchestration, inspection of code quality, etc.

- Demonstrated experience in building automated solutions through tools and software that enable infrastructure to be remotely provisioned, configured and decommissioned.

- Demonstrated hands-on experience in designing, building and implementing infrastructure solutions.

- Knowledge and experience testing in an AGILE development methodology.

- Proficiency in a technical capacity in order to provide guidance and mentorship.

- Knowledge and/or experience in finance/payment industry.

- Excellent leadership, written and communication skills.
