Reporting to the Senior Director, Program Management within the DDP team, this position will provide Program / Management leadership for the Visa Token Services Programs. These Programs have a significant impact on Visa's future revenue streams. Program management will holistically encompass working across all business and technical units within Visa to drive overall program success. Comprehensive day-to-day management of multiple, cross functional, global software development projects, specifically within mission critical programs will be required.

The responsibilities will include but are not limited to: planning & resource management, conducting project kickoff meetings; defining project scope; facilitating technical, operational and/or business requirements definition for Product Development tasks; developing detailed baseline project plans; driving / managing / tracking projects through each phase of the project lifecycle through to successful completion leveraging agile methodologies where necessary; communicating status, issues and risks to project stakeholders; providing leadership to cross-functional project teams, and maintaining project documentation. This position will work closely with members of Product Management, UI/UX, Product Development, QA, Release Management, Implementation Management, and Operations teams, as well as with all levels of management within the organization. The Digital and Mobile Product Development organization is also fully operational in Scrum delivery. This role will include complex project management that may involve developing processes and plans.

A strong candidate will have a solid experience with technology/ product program management, people management, x-functional team leadership, as well as superb skills in communications, business analysis, problem-solving, cross-team coordination, communications, project/program management, processes, and change management. The ideal candidate is not just a facilitator or project plan tracker but ensures things get done. The ideal candidate must have a drive to get things done and a "make it happen" attitude. To add here, this candidate must have strong experience in onsite/offsite collaboration.

Job Description

•    Accountable for the end-to-end planning and execution of one or more projects and/or Agile teams. Lead and negotiate, scope, schedule, budget, risks, deployments and communications for projects and initiatives.
•    Coach multiple teams through the software development life cycle using Agile, Scrum, and Lean practices and work cross-functionally throughout the company to ensure projects are developed and deployed with quality and timely delivery into our production systems.
•    Understand product strategy and benefits of key deliverable in area of responsibility and drive everyone towards the common goal.
•    Analytical - Ask thoughtful questions to help our Customers, Product Owners, and Product Managers to maximize ROI and meet company objectives.
•    Work with Product Owners to promote and contribute to the improvement of the product backlog.
•    Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-up meetings, reviews/demos, retrospectives, and other scrum ceremonies.
•    Shield the team from outside distractions and interferences. Track and remove impediments for the team.
•    Set priorities, influence others, and manage customer expectations.
•    Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution.
•    Coach team in estimation techniques.
•    Develop metrics and reports to help the team understand its health and progress and to set goals.
•    Coach/Mentor team members to internalize Scrum and the Agile Principles.
•    Influence change at all levels to increase team and organization performance at a sustainable pace.
 

Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related discipline OR Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related discipline; five (5) years of overall work experience; and three (3) years specialized experience in project or program management.
  • Candidate has a PMP or equivalent project management certification and has knowledge of working in an agile environment.
  • Good familiarity with project management software tools; project management techniques; software development lifecycle in an e-commerce or web environment; scrum or agile experience.
  • SME Knowledge of project management principles and Agile development methodologies
  • Good understanding of web technology, API interface and java stack
  • Good attention to details, ability to think analytically and independently.
  • Candidate should have solid experience with onsite/offsite collaboration experience
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of technical implementations of large scale, highly available, robust web/mobile and Payment Services applications.
  • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Project Management certification preferred including at least 1 of the following: PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP®), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Scaled Agile Framework Program Consultant (SAFe SPC)
  • The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to plan, execute and deliver projects on time and demonstrate the ability to succinctly communicate any project issues, risks to an executive audience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program and project management methodologies and best practices, software and product development lifecycles (SDLC/PDLC) required. Strong process orientation and demonstrated ability to define and document new or improved portfolio and program management processes, templates and tools, and create a wide variety of reporting mechanisms for leadership, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Advanced Knowledge of Agile techniques such as: User Stories, Continuous Integration, TDD, Continuous Delivery, Pairing, Automated Testing.
  • Proficient in at least one agile project management tool: Rally, Jira, Version One, etc.  Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and SharePoint) required.  
  • Excellent verbal communication, presentation, collaboration and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to gain trust, secure buy-in and influence change at all levels. An ability to influence without direct authority, as well as demonstrate an appropriate level of assertiveness, is critical. High level of attention to detail, including the ability to assess, and synthesize large amounts of content and data related to program status, issues, risks, dependencies, and schedules and distill it in crisp, clear language appropriate for a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated understanding of process improvement programs and processes, and experience driving them successfully within technology organizations highly preferred.
  • Ability to seamlessly step back and focus on the big picture and dive into the details as needed.

  • Meticulous follow-ups and follow-through of issues and actions to drive them to closure in a timely manner; Work closely with the Technical Development team to identify and communicate critical paths.
  • Be the single point of contact for the partner and bring in resources from marketing, product, and  support as necessary
  • Become an expert on our product, our competition and the markets in which we compete
  • Manage and effectively deliver features committed to for the Release Train
  • Support Product Owner in developing, maintaining and grooming Product Backlog
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and build schedules and plans; Identifies and manages dependencies with other internal or external teams; Work with the Scrum team and with non-agile Visa teams to align deliverables
  • Handle issues/ risks proactively and work with the program manager to successful deliver the program and projects.
