Job Description

Are you someone who is inspired by helping technical people learn new skills and seeing the results of that learning in how they perform? Are you looking for an opportunity to apply your technology business acumen and understanding of software development with your strengths in instructional design, performance consulting, learning development, delivery and measurement to partner with technology experts and consult to the business in an environment that is continually evolving?

We collaborate with business leaders and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and drive the creation of learning solutions that make our people measurably better. The successful candidate is a thought-leader in learning who will forge new grounds in the use of learning technologies and methods that enable scale and support a global and distributed workforce.

This role will be based at our Foster City, California headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with L&D colleagues and Technical and Engineering leads to scope and manage the creation of Visa-specific learning experiences that impact the business in a measurable way

  • Create innovative, effective and highly scalable learning solutions with leading-edge learning technologies and methods

  • Build very strong relationships internally with our employees, managers, and leaders as a way to understand and influence transformational learning experiences

  • Effectively scope and manage vendor relationships to support the creation of timely, cost-effective, scalable solutions

  • Consult with other internal training resources and teams to share best practices and ensure continuity across multiple programs and teams

  • Be a learning thought leader for your partners and clients

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience in innovative learning design and development in the Hi-Tech or Payments industry
  • Strong aptitude for highly technical subject matter such as cloud computing, RESTful services, Big Data, mobile development, etc.; a quick learner

  • Experience consulting and working with technical leaders and highly technical learners and subject matter experts such as software developers, quality engineers, DevOps and architects

  • Expertise in adult learning principles and developing highly engaging learning experiences with substantial experience in development tools and formal and informal learning approaches – ILT, VILT, VR/AR, mobile, social, game-based learning, etc.

  • Demonstrated expertise in performance consulting and aligning learning solutions to business impact
  • Highly skilled in building external partner relationships and vendor management

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing technologically oriented environment

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and rapidly changing technology landscapes and product roadmaps

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SW Development experience, especially front end or full stack web development, and familiarity with xAPI, is a very strong plus.

  • An advanced degree in Instructional Design is not required, but is also a plus
