Visa’s Chip Testing and Approval Services team operates as part of Visa's Digital & Development Platform group.

The mission of the Chip Testing and Approval Services team is to be a one-stop shop for the testing and approval of chip card and devices for contact and contactless products as well as SDK and new technologies.  We achieve this by assessing and thoroughly analyzing the business requirements then develop testing and approval processes and procedures to be implemented internally and externally at Visa-recognized laboratories.  The Approval Services team provides support to Visa’s technology and business communities on emerging technology and is responsible for creating and implementing the testing and approval process for chip products as new chip technologies are identified.

The Quality Analyst of Approval Services will operate as a member of the Chip Testing and SDK certification teams, and will become a chip and SDK testing and certification expert across the entire Visa Inc. organization. The role requires an experienced person with both business and some technical background in IC (integrated circuit) chips and mobile payments.  The individual must also demonstrate a passion for emerging product technologies and the ability to support the organizational momentum in support of these new technologies.

The Quality Analyst will have responsibilities in supporting the Approval Services and SDK teams in the fulfillment of their duties under tight timelines, changing deliverables and additional projects as they occur.  This role reports directly to the Sr. Director of Approval Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate with internal, external and regional representatives the testing and approval process policy and procedure changes for global chip and mobile products, and other form factors, going through the chip testing and approval process.

• Work with all levels of management to communicate escalated and complicated issues, providing status and updates until resolved.

• Prepare and give presentations on various topics of the groups responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted partnerships with internal and external contacts by acting as the chip and mobile product testing and approval expert.

• Add value to the testing and approval process by insightful and thoughtful questioning, offering new ideas, consider risks and delivering solutions.

• Manage assigned projects across Approval Services and others as identified.   

• Proactively support the approval process implementation for new technology based on Visa specifications

• Communicate clearly all interoperability risks and/or issues to management providing solutions and options when available.
• Actively participate in cross-disciplinary working groups and collaborate closely with colleagues from the wider Visa Technology group
• Conducts analysis, identify best practices and makes recommendations to management for streamlining policies, procedures and practices
• Coordinate and schedule meetings with internal managers and  Sr. vendor representatives as requested
• Develop, implement and coordinate various projects as needed.

• Bachelor's degree required, combined with extensive experience (5+ years) in product/project management.  

• Excellent written and oral business communications skills in English

• Looking for an individual specifically with chip product and mobile payments highly preferred; strong understanding of chip product needs and solutions.
• Experiences with project management in software and system testing is beneficial
• Awareness and understanding of chip product payment industry and the payment-processing infrastructure with product implementation experience a plus.
• Experience in working among cross-functional groups; results focused with record of accomplishment of delivering on schedule and within budget.
• Has a strong results-oriented approach to tasks; Analytic and fact-based consultative discipline

• Liaise with other Visa teams to ensure all processes are developed according to Visa policy in a timely manner

• Identify opportunities to improve process and add additional value to our stakeholders and partners

• Maintain records and documents associated with product certifications and projects

• Participate in special assignments and provide ad hoc support as required

• Process and procedure oriented with a very strong attention to detail and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Experience of working in a matrix organization

• Excellent analytical skills

• Must be able to gather/define data/information from multiple sources and creatively develop PowerPoint presentations and status reports for management

• User acceptance testing experience a plus
