Job Description

 

Some things you might work on as Software Engineering intern are:

 

 

Create a standards portal to showcase our standards design patterns with code snippets, instructions on how to use, and examples.

 

Analyze, design, code and unit test software solutions and enhancements for an application that applies business logic and routes digital currency of global transactions

 

Implementation of a single development lifecycle, from Analysis and Design, Build, QA, Security, and Deployment. Begin to learn best and secure coding practices and standards.

 

Develop scripts for the automation of routine tasks, application health checks, self-heal scripts to foster software defined operations initiative.

 

Develop the backend of a dashboard displaying finance information. This includes completing software development tasks, quality assurance tasks, configuration management tasks and database engineering tasks.

 

Define requirements for internal website landing pages. Research and present on three accessibility automation tools that could be used to augment the current audit process.

 

Evaluate Visa Network to process payments. Create a GAP assessment comparing the DoD standard and Visa's current practices.

 

 

 

Qualifications

So what are we looking for in a Software Engineering intern?

Undergraduate students graduating in 2019 or later (unless enrolled to pursue an additional degree in Fall 2018)
Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
Proficiency in at least one programming language or technology including, but not limited, to Java, C/C++, C#, .NET, python, Javascript, HTML, CSS and Objective-C
The ability to take on challenges and address problems head-on
Strong ability to collaborate
Highly driven and resourceful
Except in exceptional circumstances, undergraduate candidates who will require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future will not be considered for this position
