We are looking for a Senior SW Engineer, to be the single point of contact for some of our key Business & Technology Partners in Data Platform. Our Data Platform is evolved towards Big Data and Open source technologies, driving adoption across Visa’s technology organizations. In this role, you will define, drive and lead the technology solutions for the business problems and facilitate the delivery of the solution. 

Key responsibilities:

• Java application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.

• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.

• Able to design E2E solution for applications.

• Assessing various training and development options and making recommendations to team members.

• Demonstrate Expertise in open source technologies and Hadoop eco system components.

• Writing well designed, testable, efficient code.

• Able to mentor and guide team members.

• Demonstrates ownership and commitment on deliverables.

• Build strong relationship with partners and other technology teams.

• BE or equivalent in Computer Science or related field from tier 1 institutes

• 3+ years of experience in java technologies and applications development

• Must have experience in designing java applications

• Must have Proven hands-on Software Development experience

• Must have experience on Multi-threaded programming in Java

• Must have experience in HBase and Kafka.

• Must have experience in Hadoop eco system components.

• Must have good understanding of Object oriented design patterns

• Must have strong knowledge of database concepts

• Must be result oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Experience with test-driven development

• Knack for writing clean, readable Java code

• Design and development of applications for both Unix/Windows servers

• Strong algorithms  and data structures
