Job Description

Visa is seeking a Chief Software Engineer, Identity and Access Management to act as one of
key technology leaders to build and manage Visa's technology assets in the Identity and Access Management area. The Identity and Access Management technologies is part of Visa's Cybersecurity. We are responsible for the R&D amd operations of the critical Identity and Access Management  products, applications, and services for internal staff at VISA.  This includes idea generation, design, development, and testing of products, applications, and services as well as their support and operations that provide Visa staff with solutions to provision, govern and enforce access to VISA's internal resources. We also innovate and adopt new technologies from the industry especially from the open source community for our technical development.

You will act as a trusted technical advisor and strategic thought leader to the Identity and Access Management technologies group. The successful candidate will be comfortable navigating challenging
forces in the cybersecurity space especially in the Identity and Access Management and connected areas such as Multi Factor authentication, applied cryptography, biometrics, adapative authentication and be
comfortable in a fast-paced environment with significant changes; developing/implementing strategies and processes that enable the organization to innovate and grow fast. You will have the opportunity to lead, participate, guide, and mentor other people in the team on design in a hands on manner. You are responsible for the technical leadership on key initiatives and their strategic and technical direction.  This position reports to the Senior DIrector of Identity and Access Management Technologies and
will be based in Foster City, CA (can also be in Austin, TX).

Within this role you will: 

  • Utilize your sharp analytical skills to help create highly complex and high risk IAM integrations for the Visa IAM platform 

  • Act as the “Go-To person” and subject matter expert (SME) for specific technologies providing consultative strategic and tactical guidance to product development teams 

  • Collaborate with the development teams to define, develop, maintain, and communicate the technical strategy for IAM solutions 

  • Stay abreast of the “state of the art” technologies and proactively assess and evaluate the adoption thereof into the organization 

  • Demonstrate technical mastery and be an inspirational leader and mentor who continuously develops the competencies of him/herself and others 

  • Champion engineering best practice across the development lifecycle 

Qualifications

  • Possess an academic background in information systems, computer science or related technical field plus 15+ years experience in the design, architecture, and development of large scale system, applications and tools
