Job Description

The Senior Vice President, Global Client Readiness is responsible for leading a professional services organization with 100+ direct reports and large cross-functional teams to deliver readiness support and deployment of Visa’s new products and services for clients in all Visa regions. Clients include issuing and acquiring financial institutions, merchants, third party processors and strategic partners. This role provides functional and technical leadership for all client readiness activities globally, including the cross functional delivery of systems and services. This role is a direct report to the Global Head of CSS and is on the Global CSS Leadership Team.

The SVP, Global Client Readiness has responsibility for client and CSS functional readiness for launches of new and modified Visa products, Digital and Business Enhancement readiness, and delivery of support services to clients. This lead position collaborates with Product, Technology, Regional CSS Leads, Sales and Clients to support the design, development and delivery of Visa’s products and services. The team is also responsible for establishing consistent implementation approaches, to help accelerate the deployment of Visa products and services.

The SVP, Global Client Readiness is responsible for building a cohesive high performing team by providing leadership, setting strategic direction and applying working knowledge of Visa and Visa products, systems and procedures. This leader is also accountable for providing leadership to direct reports and partners closely with Global CSS counterparts, cross-functional leaders and executive management.
 
Principal Responsibilities/Key Results Areas
• Leads the Global Client Readiness organization, with direct management responsibility for Client Readiness staff, with regional teams dual reporting into the respective Regional CSS Leads. Partners closely with Regional CSS Leads to jointly manage regional teams and facilitate efficient client readiness activities in globally.  
• Partners with Product and Technology teams during the design and development phases to ensure we develop products and services with streamlined client implementation in mind. Identify and build services as part of the product design.
• Leads all aspects of supporting client and Visa readiness for Visa’s regular system releases, large operational initiatives, and all new products and services.
• Establishes global consistency or partnerships for product and service implementation to help accelerate deployment around the world. 
• Responsible for establishing and managing the budget for Global Client Readiness function, including delivering expense and revenue targets within plan.
Performs as a leader and thought partner on cross-functional crisis management team as needed, often requiring leading through crisis that has no precedent.
• Establishes and fosters relationships with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels, including executive management.
• Leads by example, setting development and leadership goals for the organization, holding leaders accountable for the development of their teams and delivery of goals. Utilizes the Visa Leadership Principles and Rewards/Recognition programs inclusive of Annual Review.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years in expanding leadership roles with experience in building and leading professional services organizations, product development and delivery, cross-functional leadership, release management, large program execution.

  • Natural collaborator, with excellent communication skills and strong executive presence. Must be disciplined and comfortable with ambiguity, possessing the maturity and capability to interact and influence across multiple levels and organizations internal and external to Visa.

  • Superior strategic and analytic skills, capable of clearly communicating a vision to his/her team, the company and our clients. Demonstrated success in executing strategies, across cross-functional global teams.

  • Deep background of demonstrated success, with keen commercial acumen, with a focus on commercial success and financial results. Makes sound business and organizational judgments and thoughtful decisions, with short and long-term strategic goals in mind.

  • Cultivates deep partnerships with current and potential internal/external partners. Understands the payments and services industries and can link client needs to opportunities for future service developments or enhancements.

  • Effective leadership and people management skills, with a focus on developing diverse, high performing teams and fostering an inclusive culture that is collaborative and inquisitive. Develop career pathing and work to build succession within CSS and Visa broadly.

  • Exhibit relevant and consistent leadership behaviors in team management, client communications and internal interactions with teams, peers and senior management. Work effectively across a global matrix organization.
