Job Description

The Director of Sponsorships and Talent Rights Governance will be part of the newly formed Global Marketing Operations & Governance team within Visa's Global Marketing Capabilities team, which enables data-driven, connected customer experiences that are strategically aligned to Visa’s business priorities.  The Global Marketing Operations & Governance team is charged with establishing an operational infrastructure to enable Visa's global marketers to deliver best-in-class, data-driven marketing and drive operational excellence and efficiency.  The team is seeking individuals highly passionate about marketing and operations and eager to build Visa's global marketing operations infrastructure. 

Responsibilities include:

Define and implement a global governance framework for Sponsorships and Advertising Talent Rights management:

  • Design and establish a best-in-class governance framework clarifying strategy, roles & responsibilities, process, and policies/standards for how Visa's Marketing & Communications organization manages Sponsorships, advertising talent and usage rights
  • Ensure policies, standards, processes, and guidelines covering Marketing Sponsorships and Talent Rights Management are updated regularly, appropriately activated through training and communications with Visa's employees and agencies globally, and monitored for adherence and accountability
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators on business impact of governance framework implementation

Manage the day-to-day operations supporting Sponsorships and Talent Rights management:

  • Develop and maintain accurate, comprehensive global Talent & Rights registry in partnership with Visa marketers and agencies globally
  • Ensure Visa's marketing teams receive timely notifications of talent & rights-related expirations and conduct impact assessments as necessary
  • Ensure critical processes for Sponsorships and Talent Rights are executed consistently and tracked globally
  • Maintain repository of executed agreements for Sponsorships and Talent & Rights
  • Oversee and manage day-to-day agency relationship relating to talent management
  • Facilitate relevant oversight and decision making forums
  • Act as a liaison among various functional stakeholders, including global and regional Marketing and Communications, Sourcing, Legal, Compliance, and others

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant sponsorship operations and/or advertising talent rights management experience
  • Deep expertise in media production processes and understanding of SAG-AFTRA member obligations
  • Experience leading through influence, leveraging strong relationships with global leaders, stakeholders, clients, and partners, both face-to-face and virtually
  • Experience working with rights management platforms and digital asset management systems
  • Strong passion towards business operations, marketing, and project management, especially in humanizing operations within a marketing environment
  • Outstanding communication skills able to translate strategies, policies, and standards into a scalable, understandable format and articulate the value of work to the business
  • Experience in transition / change management (TCM): deep understanding and demonstration of application of TCM processes in complex environments
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience working in ambiguous / start-up environments
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to observe and translate operational challenges into strategic, actionable objectives
  • Extremely adaptable and quick learner
  • Proven team player, highly adaptable to new opportunities, and able to learn complex topics quickly
  • Bachelor’s Degree and MBA or advanced degree is highly desirable
