Job Description

Do you love organizing and managing portfolios of technical programs? Building partnerships and relationships? Keeping up with the latest data technologies? We are looking for you!

This role provides strategic and tactical leadership of our Data Platform portfolio, enabling delivery of a broad portfolio of programs and initiatives. Responsibilities include communication, portfolio and program governance, reporting, and Annual Operating Plan.

Responsibilities:

-Innovate, socialize, implement, facilitate and iterate portfolio and program level:

  • Governance processes and forums in support of data-driven decision-making and providing transparency into progress, risks, and issues.

  • Executive communication and messaging.

  • Change management process for assigned portfolios, including intake, sizing, impact and trade-off assessment, and decision-making processes.

  • Reporting effectively, to provide transparency and visibility into the program's scope, progress and status.

-Serve as “process champion” for planning and portfolio management functions.

-Drive the product development planning activities in support of Annual Operating Planning and Roadmap. Foster and facilitate collaboration and shared accountability for outcomes with Product, Development, Architecture, Operations & Infrastructure, Release Management and other technology and business partners.

-Ensure business priorities and product changes are incorporated into portfolio and program plans, dependencies are captured and tracked, risks and issues are proactively identified and mitigated, and progress is communicated to stakeholders and executives.

Qualifications

-9+ years of progressively more responsible experience in directly relevant leadership roles in technology planning, portfolio management, program management, business/systems analysis, technical product development and management, management consulting, software development, and/or technology strategy. Directly relevant experience within a larger, leading technology company is highly preferred.

-Solid understanding of the software/product development lifecycle (SDLC/PDLC) and program and project management techniques, methodologies and best practices.

-Strong process orientation and demonstrated ability to define and document new or improved product/program planning, product development, quality assurance, release management, and other processes and workflows.

-Demonstrated understanding of process improvement programs and processes, with experience driving them successfully within technology organizations highly preferred. Experience developing and implementing metrics to deliver desired business outcomes. Some background in “operational excellence” and/or Six Sigma helpful.

-Excellent verbal communication, presentation, collaboration and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to gain trust, secure buy-in and influence change at all levels. Highly effective facilitation skills in both large and small group settings.

-Outstanding written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly skilled in the creation of presentations, new reporting mechanisms and other documents. High attention to detail with ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and distill it in crisp, clear language appropriate for a variety of audiences including technology and business executives.

-Project Management Professional (PMP®)

-BA/BS degree is required with preference for degrees in Computer Science, or Engineering. MS/MBA is a plus.
