Company Description

The Business Conduct Office (BCO) is an integral part of Visa's global legal and compliance team.  The Business Conduct Office provides global oversight for the Visa Code of Business Conduct & Ethics (the "Code"), Visa's Compliance Hotline and online compliance reporting system, conducts investigations, provides general compliance counsel to various areas of the Visa business, and provides oversight for related policies (such as Conflicts of Interest and Non-Retaliation). The Director of Business Conduct (HR investigations) will lead and support investigations related to alleged misconduct (Primary focus on Harrassment and Discrimination Claims), co-lead creation of monthly and quarterly BCO metrics, support the business conduct resolution process, provide compliance counsel in response to various inquiries, and will promote the highest ethical business standards at Visa.  In addition, the Director will be expected to work collaboratively across multiple functions at Visa such as Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, Employee Relations, Internal Audit, Sourcing, Cyber Security and Finance. 

Job Description

Visa's global compliance team plays a vital role in managing corporate compliance matters, risk and reputation. The Director, Business Conduct (HR Investigations) will collaborate with key stakeholders across the Visa business to minimize legal, compliance and regulatory risks and will have primary
responsibility for conducting investigations, developing and/or updating compliance policies and providing metrics and updates to the head of the Business Conduct Office and senior compliance leadership.

Visa promotes an ethical culture and provides employees and outside partners with safe and confidential channels to report concerns. The Director of Business Conduct will lead HR investigations. This position requires proactive day-to-day management of the global investigation process, the Compliance Hotline as well as conducting due diligence and statistical analysis on misconduct matters in an effort to identify, manage and mitigate risks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Reinforce and support Visa's standard investigation process and protocols across multiple functions and geographies

  • Partner with Legal,  Global Safety and Security, Employee Relations (HR), Regional Compliance and the business to conduct a prompt, thorough, and fair investigation

  • Lead HR investigations (primary focus on Harassment and Discrimination claims, retaliation allegations, HR violation of code, etc.), and support financial investigations (such as Conflict of Interest, Travel and Expense, vendor kickback, etc.)

  • Conduct trend analysis, track and report case metrics (including intake, alleged violations, discipline, etc.) and summarize results for internal reporting purposes (monthly and quarterly)

  • Manage investigations end-to-end, including intake meetings, background research, investigative interviews, and debrief meetings with leadership.

  • Support the Visa Conflict of Interest disclosure review program

  • Travel approximately 10 - 15% of the time to support the Business Conduct Office

  • Provide support for annual policy review and updates  

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5+ years of experience handling internal investigations with an emphasis on Harassment and Discrimination investigations
  • Preferred qualifications - Employment Law experience, HR/ER experience, CFE
  • Experience drafting, updating and implementing compliance-related policies 
  • Experience conducting corporate internal investigations including intake, investigation, resolution and summary reports 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent data analytic skills  
  • Proactive, highly responsive, sensitive to confidentiality concerns, collaborative, diplomatic, flexible and adaptable 
  • Ability to work independently and use good judgment  while also collaborating frequently with BCO team members and others in Legal/Compliance/HR
  • Facilitate development and analysis of case-related metrics and statistics
  • Highly Ethical. Can be trusted to do only the "right thing" for the employees, shareholders, and others. Follows a balanced approach without compromising integrity.
