Job Description

The Senior Director-Programs and Operations is a member of the Global Network Product team and is responsible for leading a team of approximately ten people overseeing VisaNet programs and operations.  This includes developing and leading strategic initiatives to advance VisaNet processing including international routing, ensuring collection of domestic processing data from clients and preparing business case and rationale for investments to ensure Visa’s Network meets the evolving needs of our clients, both globally and within specific geographies.  The Senior Director also leads resources who manage Visa’s gateways to enable multi-brand processing for our clients, including Authorization and SMS Single Message System gateways to non-Visa networks (e.g. STAR, NYCE, Pulse, MasterCard/Maestro/Cirrus).  The primary responsibilities of this position are to:

  • Set strategic direction for the GNP Visa Net programs and operations processing and oversee the investment and expense budget for Global Network Products
  • Develop strategic rationale and business cases for investments in new network capabilities such as domestic processing market entry and new authorization, clearing and settlement functions and be able to influence decision making at senior levels of leadership
  • Implement and oversee compliance programs to ensure international routing of transactions on VisaNet and the complete and accurate reporting of specific domestic transactions
  • Manage referral program for potential prepaid issuers seeking processors
  • Oversee client billing for Global Network Product
  • Ensure gateways to non-Visa networks are operating as expected and meeting client needs
  • Oversee the business relationship for processing with other networks such as MasterCard
  • Assume data stewardship role for all (approx. 400) data filters, attributes, and metrics related to network processing
  • Lead data and analytics team responsible for creating, maintaining, and utilizing corporate processing metrics to support processing initiatives and to answer key business questions
  • Prepare executive briefing materials to communicate revenue and expense performance, strategic roadmaps and investment performance

Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree, MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of demonstrated in-depth knowledge of payments and financial or accounting functions; 15 years of progressively responsible related experience managing staff and/or project management.
  • Highly analytical with very strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.  Ability to distill multiple sources of information into compelling executive messaging and decision criteria
  • Ability to manipulate large data sets to inform and guide direction
  • Ability to partner effectively with other teams such as Finance and Technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
