What's it all about?

As the digital economy becomes an integral part of our daily lives, the ability to deliver secure and consumer friendly remote payments is increasingly important to help underpin the growth and innovation in digital commerce. However as digital commerce grows, so does fraud and Visa is at the forefront of developing and delivering leading risk solutions to protect our cardholders, merchants and financial institutions so transactions are easy, fast and secure. 3D Secure (3DS), a tool to identify cardholders at the checkout, is currently undergoing a re-launch incorporating cutting edge technology, biometrics, sophisticated data and device analytics and the ability to operate across all devices.

The Authentication Team in Europe are looking for a team player to help lead the way in the Europe and ensure Visa is at the forefront of the wave of change. The role will involve taking responsibility for product adoption of Visa's new 3DS solution: VCAS (Visa Consumer Authentication Service) by working with key clients to evaluate potential opportunities, recommend market entry strategies and actively engage sales teams and clients directly to achieve market adoption. Cardinal Commerce, a Visa owned company operates VCAS which delivers a comprehensive 3DS service across all card schemes.

As a business development and product expert, the role will require a good understanding of payments and ideally a working knowledge of the 3D Secure framework.

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • You will be accountable for delivering sales targets and ensure P&L is achieved as per objectives.
  • You will establish key measures and annual revenue targets for sales teams across clusters, to ensure results are delivered and progress tracked.
  • You will develop market strategy and plan to drive adoption of VCAS in Europe by issuers
  • You will work with clients and market sales teams to promote the adoption of VCAS across European markets, endeavouring to break down silos and work together as "One Visa"
  • You will be the Visa liaison person with Cardinal Commerce for Europe.
  • You will serve as VCAS subject matter and technical expert to clients and internal stakeholders and provide product training as needed.
  • You will develop an in depth understanding of PSD2 regulation and how it affects authentication in Europe and communicate the benefits of VCAS in helping clients deliver optimised e-commerce payment solutions
  • You will serve as primary point of contact for VCAS including organising and presenting at events (internal and external)
  • In conjunction with Cardinal Commerce and global product management teams, you will provide support on day-to-day VCAS product queries and act as the escalation point for new product implementations
  • You will provide input to the development of sales and support materials and ensure sales materials are adapted for European clients
  • In conjunction with Cardinal Commerce, you will coordinate new business opportunities, including RFPs and proposals and support the negotiation of new client contracts
  • You will proactively foster relationships with regional counterparts to understand market specific perspectives and ensure alignment with global product objectives, ensuring commercialization efforts are successfully supported and implemented globally.
  • Everyone is a leader at Visa, and you will provide guidance to global product owners on issues that help to localize products in Europe (e.g., pricing, product features, sales enablement tools, competitor's products, etc.), sharing your subject matter expertise and acting in a mentorship capacity where appropriate

Qualifications

What we're after...

  • A passion for Fintech, and in particular payments
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, required
  • Advance degree, or equivalent, desirable
  • High level of experience working in payments and product management with knowledge of payment authentication a strong plus
  • Strategic thinking skills ability to anticipate upcoming trends and changes in the broader environment and apply them to Risk and Authentication products
  • Strong commercial acumen; understands the economics of client's business and how authentication products can impact a client's P&L as well as the commercial drivers of Visa's business
  • Team player comfortable working in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders without formal authority
  • Exceptional communicator effective in interacting and building relationships across all levels of Visa and client organizations. Able to adapt communication strategies to the needs of their audience (e.g., simplifying complex technical messages)
  • Strong problem solving skills able to analytically break down problems into a solution
  • High energy, motivated team player, able to effectively lead across functions and teams to drive projects and key initiatives to completion.
