Job Description

DaaS development is building the Next Generation Data processing platform with cost-effective and distributed applications on commodity hardware using best-in-class technology components. Building next generation DaaS applications require collaboration with exceptional group of software engineers, Data architects, DevOps engineers, payment experts and infrastructure architects.

KeyResponsibilities:

The successful candidate will be a Staff Software developer in the Data Provisioning application area. The primary responsibility would be to support Mainframe application development and help to upgrade the current application areas using new age technologies.

 

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide Leadership direction to the team

• Analyze and develop Mainframe z/OS applications using Cobol/JCL/CICS/DB2.

• Design, develop, document and implement new programs and subprograms, as well as enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing software.

• Develop testing and debugging routines and oversee execution.

• Create documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.

• Build and maintain relationships with global and virtual teams and third parties on software development or support issues.

• Lead development and oversee programming and testing functions to ensure that projects are securely delivered and fulfill expectations.

• Understand the positioning of a solution within the company and to build a plan to effectively gain buy-in from all participants.

• Identify opportunities for further enhancements and refinements to standards and processes.

• Mentor junior team members, develop departmental procedures and best practices standards.

- Knowledge in open source technology like Java, Python or Hadoop is a Plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in developing and supporting business applications for large corporations with experience in both batch and online systems.

• Minimum of 7 or more years of Mainframe experience.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.

· Expert level of working experience & knowledge on COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, REXX & IBM utility.

· Process oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills

· Work independently and mentor other sin the team and with minimal supervision

· Very good Communication Skill.

· Very Positive Attitude towards work and deliverable.

· Open mindset to work with team.

 

Must have experiences:

• Expert in best practices for Data Marts and Enterprise DW architectures.

• Combination of mainframe and open systems experience a plus.

• Relational database and SQL development experience required; extensive knowledge of DB2 (3 years of experience or more) and other relational databases (such as Oracle) a plus.

• Development experience in a cross-platform, multi-tier environment.

• In-depth knowledge of the software development life cycle required.

• Ability to develop code that follows established coding guidelines.

• Strong communication skills with proven ability to present complex ideas and document in a clear and concise way.

• Proficient in project design.

• Knowledge of Visa applications a plus.

• Mentor junior team members, develop departmental procedures and best practices standards.

• Quick learner; self-starter, detailed and thorough.
