The Director, Global Business Intelligence will support the product management of our internal business intelligence platforms. This role will help drive the vision and strategy for our self-service business intelligence offerings and have day-to-day responsibility for defining and delivering requirements to integrate on the platforms. This role will develop recommendations based on continuous stakeholder outreach and work with Technology and business team members to ensure that business needs are met and enhance the user experience. We are looking for a skilled, self-driven and passionate individual who can take the platform to the next level and increase adoption and usage.
As a leader, this individual contributor will play a central role in product strategy, planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and contributing to the product vision. In addition, another key aspect of this role is to build and encourage a sense of BI community within the organization by providing resources to BI developers and business users to share with and learn from others.
Key Responsibilities are:
Collaborate with internal customers, stakeholders, and BI platform users to understand business requirements and identify opportunities for enhancement of the current platform;
Define, manage, and implement a strategic roadmap that supports business needs
Develop continuous feedback channels with internal stakeholders; provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer
Maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction through the implementation, investigation, analysis, training and relationship building
Drive innovation of the BI platforms and services; conduct research into current and emerging business intelligence technologies in support of BI needs
Support team members and stakeholders as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Business Intelligence strategy, best practices and delivery; use this knowledge to drive a better end user experience
Manage and prioritize an active backlog for the product
Develop and maintain detailed product documentation
Become a subject matter expert on the business intelligence platform capabilities
Develop a strong business and technical understanding of the platform
10 + years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or related experience serving as an expert with exposure to multiple tools and BI strategy and architecture
Experience implementing self-service BI solutions with modern BI platforms
Experience working as a business analyst or BI product manager
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills, capable of developing and delivering well-structured communications
Ability to influence cross-functionally in a rapidly evolving business environment
Experience with Business Intelligence technologies such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, Hadoop
Experience with Data Virtualization and governance.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
Ability to understand information quickly, derive insight, synthesize information clearly and concisely, and devise solutions
Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
Experience working in Agile development preferred
Ability to think in a solutions-oriented view and operate within dynamic business and technical processes
Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
Proven ability to function autonomously, anticipate deliverables, and self-manage as needed
Ability to travel as business needs require (10%)
Education: Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline
