Job Description

Role Summary

The Manager, Acceptance Programs & Initiatives will form part of a team of merchant acquiring domain experts who have the primary objective of supporting Australia and New Zealand markets with the deployment and execution of merchant/ acquirer programs & initiatives.

This position has two key separate areas of responsibilities. Firstly, to be data driven and take ownership of producing required data reports to assist with making strategic informed decisions and providing key data insights for our merchants, acquirers and internal stakeholders. Secondly, to take responsibility for management of Visa’s key industry initiatives through providing business, technical and operational expertise in delivering Visa’s key industry initiatives and also tracking and managing the implementation of these key initiatives into the market.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter that can work independently in a fast paced and evolving environment with limited supervision. They must be a fast learner, who can quickly absorb the nuances of Visa’s Acceptance business. They should be data focused and highly organized and efficient at managing multiple projects with competing priorities.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Development and delivery of required ongoing and adhoc data reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders

  • Provide key data insights and identify data improvements and efficiencies to overall process of delivery of data          

  • Tracking and coordinating the progression of the Merchant Sales & Acquiring strategy for Australia and New Zealand to increase Visa Merchant Sales Volume, market share, data processing revenues and create acquirer, merchant and consumer preference for Visa

  • Develop and execute key industry initiatives on behalf of the Australia and New Zealand Merchant Sales & Acquiring team.

  • Participate in market analysis and local business development and/or product development strategy; develop and submit account and/or product plan.

  • Establish and maintain positive, beneficial and constructive relationships with key merchant or acquirer contacts and influence and drive the net promoter score for VISA through provision of valuable business solutions through Visa capabilities.  

Qualifications

 

  • Very strong technical competencies and ability to utilize systems to extract, capture and interpret data

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong bias for action

  • Independent and Entrepreneurial self-driven team player who is willing to roll up sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager/ owner mentality

  • Experience in merchant acquiring or payments Industry, understanding of the four party payments ecosystem and respective roles and responsibilities of each participant  

  • Experience in external client facing roles delivering projects or products

  • Project management skills with the ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels

  • Excellent verbal and written skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex technical and business issues and solutions to a variety of stakeholders

  • Ability to understand the depths of the Australia and New Zealand marketplace dynamics including the regulatory environment, technological and consumer behavioural shifts tying this back to impact to Visa

  • Strong financial and numerical skills

  • Tertiary qualified is strongly preferred

  • Confidence and ability to influence and negotiate
