Job Description

The Team

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results. 

The VCA India and South Asia team sits within the VCA Asia Pacific regional consulting practice and provides a comprehensive range of advisory consulting services and advanced solutions that address unique challenges across four key practice areas:  strategic growth, profit improvement, risk management and digital strategy.

VCA enjoys a high profile in the India and South Asia market (comprising Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives), is represented on the local leadership team and is involved in the strategic issues facing our clients in the region. Based in Mumbai, the Manager will report to the Director, VCA and support projects for our valued clients in the region.

The Role

The Manager, Visa Consulting and Analytics will work on consulting engagements for key clients in Visa’s India and South Asia region, enabling portfolio growth and improved profitability across the client’s payments businesses.

Typically 1-2 months in duration and running in parallel, potential projects could include business strategy, portfolio diagnostics, projects focusing on improving customer acquisition, customer management and customer retention, assessment of product and marketing strategies, running workshops for customer value proposition design, creating payment strategies, and optimisation of client customer experience and supporting processes. Projects might also involve working with other Visa teams (product, sales, marketing, strategy) on campaign assessment, portfolio profitability, etc.

The Manager will be responsible for significant components of client engagements, and in end to end delivery. Typically, this will involve the Manager interacting with the client and internal teams, gathering and managing project inputs, analyzing data to form conclusions and recommendations, developing and presenting compelling project reports and working with clients on executing recommendations.  The full range of responsibilities are detailed below. 

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of client project proposals, providing input to objectives, scope, deliverables, approach, dependencies, roles and responsibilities

  • End to end delivery of strategic client and internal projects

  • Develop fact base by undertaking client interviewing, collecting and analyzing inputs such as client data, process flows, policies, competitive, industry and environmental information

  • Analyse Visanet and client data to conduct benchmarking, identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities

  • Identify solutions and recommendations that address client objectives and result in performance improvement; leverage relevant VCA methodologies, frameworks and global best practices

  • Collaborate with local client relationship managers and other functional teams to gain insights and support client engagement and execution

  • Design and deliver compelling presentations to illustrate findings, ideas, recommendations within consulting engagements and more broadly; at times physically support implementation at the client site

Qualifications

Technical

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience in financial services consulting and analytics/ payments/retail banking

  • MBA from top-tier business school or Post Graduate degree in quantitative fields such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or Economics

  • Solid consulting toolkit (e.g. hypothesis driven analysis & problem solving, stakeholder management / facilitation and project management skills)

  • Experience of statistical analysis, modeling, scoring schemes, etc.

  • Exposure to customer experience design (using human centered design / design thinking)

Business

  • Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and managing multiple  projects with diverse cross-functional stakeholders

  • Results oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor

  • Good business acumen with strong ability to solve business problems through data driven quantitative methodologies.

  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style, with the ability to tailor data driven results to various audience levels

  • Detailed oriented, is expected to ensure highest level of quality/rigor in reports & data analysis

  • Proven skills in translating analytics output to actionable recommendations, and delivery

  • Experience in presenting ideas and analysis to stakeholders
