Job Description

Overview:

We have a unique opportunity that calls for an ambitious, hard-working, highly analytical Finance professional who will lead a team that supports Visa’s President, CFO, and CEO. You will have direct access and exposure to Finance senior leadership and will participate in the analysis, preparation, and presentation of key business drivers and financial results to be used by executive management.

Responsibilities include:

Provide unique insight into Visa’s business drivers and financial forecasts / results

  • You will lead quantitative analysis of driver based metrics and financial results to deliver insights about financial performance of Visa and strategic partnerships

  • Your identification and recommendations of business trends will improve Visa’s financial performance

  • Lead the storyboarding, analytical output and production of materials used for communication to the Visa Inc. Executive Committee and / or Board of Directors

  • Support the month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting requirements in accordance with deadlines

  • Develop business intuition to communicate the main implications observed from analysis

  • Partner with geographic counterparts to ensure alignment on financial performance and drivers of forecasts/results

  • Coordinate and manage analytical requests with other global and regional functions

Lead Finance efforts supporting mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investments for Visa

  • Serve as a go-between with Finance and Corporate Development / Visa Ventures; quarterback Finance engagement and workstreams on M&A and investment activities

  • Ensure rigorous financial analysis and due diligence for potential transactions

  • Support integration efforts and ongoing evaluation of transaction performance

Develop robust competitor analysis practice within Finance

  • Lead financial analysis of priority competitors in order to identify business opportunities and insights to inform Visa’s strategy and priorities

  • Provide fact-based understanding of competitive landscape to executive leadership in partnership with Competitive Intelligence SVP and team

  • Coordinate knowledge and standard methodology sharing across Regions and Functions to ensure we understand our competition at regional and global levels

Lead global pricing and client/partner incentive analysis

  • Develop corporate perspective on pricing opportunities

  • Identify cross-regional trends related to pricing and client incentives; determine implications and develop recommendations to improve pricing strategies/execution and deal terms

  • Improve knowledge and best practice sharing across Regions and Functions

  • Lead financial analysis for global client/partner incentive deals

  • Partner with Regional and Functional Finance teams on ongoing assessment of results for pricing and client incentive actions

Qualifications

Financial Leadership

  • Ability to handle projects with multiple workstreams, with proven leadership success

  • Ability to structure, manage, and coordinate complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple partners

  • Proven expertise in modeling techniques and managing large data sets

  • Drives profitable growth by analyzing results and advising senior management on insights and recommended actions

  • Strong expertise in leading financial elements of mergers, acquisitions, and investments including financial modeling, financial analysis, due diligence, and post-close performance tracking

Professional

  • MBA or relevant graduate degree from premier institution or similar academic experience

  • 15+ years of experience with 4-5 years’ experience on M&A or corporate development team preferred

  • Global or multi-national business experience strongly preferred

  • Strong customer focus combined with an in-depth understanding of the trends affecting the financial services, payments and ecommerce world

  • Extraordinary analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor

  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment

  • Advanced level of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint required

Business Leadership

  • Communicate compelling messages to senior executives and external business partners

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a "peer" with Global Functions and Regions

  • Collaborate and influence successfully within a highly matrixed organization

Team Leadership

  • 8+ years’ experience leading

  • Commitment to continuous training and improvement of employees throughout the finance function

  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities

  • Coach and have challenging employee conversations when necessary

  • Be decisive and willing to take action regarding decisions affecting the team

  • Committed to developing a team, including key talent, and build a strong succession pipeline for the future
