Job Description

Visa Business and Economic Insights (BEI) delivers actionable intelligence to the evolving global economy for Visa and Visa's clients. The group harnesses its expertise, multiple data sources and deep client relationships to provide cutting-edge insights into consumer spending and the payments industry. Through close client engagement, BEI delivers these insights to inform business planning and management decisions.

Position Scope: The associate U.S. economist will help to advance Business and Economic Insights’ expanding client coverage by using Visa’s unique data assets, applying cutting-edge economic and econometric modeling techniques, and layering with external data sources to generate innovative business and economic insights. The scope of this role includes, but is not necessarily limited to developing econometric models to assess and forecast U.S. economic performance, updating existing U.S. payments industry models for reporting to both internal and external clients, research and preparation of presentation materials to clients -- both internal and external.

Qualifications

 

  • Advanced degree -- Masters in economics preferred, with relevant experience considered as a substitute

  • 7+ years experience in financial services or economic consulting

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt as necessary to a fast-paced work environment

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
