Job Description

What's it all about?

Provides operational support to the UK & Ireland Business Development team in developing strategic new business opportunities for Visa and leading small to medium sized opportunities within the cluster.

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Responsible for leading UK & I B2B & Commercial new Business Development activity

  • Manage the Commercial New Business Development team

  • Provide market feedback regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs for new opportunities

  • Plan and implement business plans and the penetration of new markets

  • Actively seek and advise on new business opportunities

  • Manage a portfolio of B2B / Commercial clients as they transition from new to Visa to steady state

  • Accountable for prioritising conflicting and competing demand across multiple accounts or products to ensure resources are deployed to maximum effect

  • Work closely with the B2B & Commercial product team to ensure client / market needs are being met and great product solutions / platforms are being delivered to the UK&I market

  • Engaged in "management" activities at an industry or market level and have the ability to influence divisional direction, plans and or priorities

  • Work with clients to identify new and ongoing requirements, introducing new B2B & Commercial products and services as appropriate, endeavouring to break down silos and work together as “One Visa”

  • Work closely with the assigned clients, regularly liaising with multiple key stakeholders and ensuring an ongoing quality relationship is maintained.

  • Demonstrate good knowledge of all products and services, with expert knowledge in B2B & Commercial areas. Understand the impact of their specialty area on assigned client business

  • Engage with cross functional colleagues ensuring teams such as marketing, merchant & acquiring and consulting are appropriately involved and informed about relevant member issues

  • Provide guidance and support with major contract negotiations and is involved in all major structural changes/account restructures

  • Everyone is a leader at Visa, and build on team’s analytical skills and business knowledge, sharing your subject matter expertise and acting in a mentorship capacity where appropriate

  • Contribute to the development of innovative solutions and departmental plans

  • Solve unique problems that have a broad impact on the business

  • Contribute to the development of the overarching strategy for clients and Visa

Qualifications

What we're after...

  • Previous sales management experience, preferably in B2B
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of the payments business and/or financial services
  • Ability to liaise with and influence key stakeholders
  • Broad and comprehensive knowledge about Visa and its products and services
  • Experience in working with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions
  • Be commercially focused and pragmatic, have the ability to identify opportunities and propose solutions
  • Experience of working in a corporate/business focused environment
  • Excellent negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business
  • Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads
  • Have capacity to become a respected and valued partner at multiple levels
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Proven influencing, selling and negotiation skills
