Job Description

Commercial payments continue to evolve around the globe.  Today Visa participates in card/network based commercial payment flows, which account for less than 10% of all commercial payments flows.  We continue to invest in our core Card/Network based payment flows, however, we believe we have the ability to play a much larger role in commercial payments and are looking to provide solutions that meet our client’s needs.  The selected candidate for this role will provide a strategic vision along with E2E execution of a high value cross border payments network under the B2B Connect product suite.  Today Visa is developing a high value, cross border solution (B2B Connect) which will be commercially available in early 2019 and this will initially be deployed for payments but other use cases are merging for the network.  Along with the payment flows that we will capture, this leader will look to monetize the ancillary aspects of the transactions through consulting and analytics, insightful data management and new use cases.


  • Develop and execute a long term product vision and strategy for Visa to expand into high value cross border payments through B2B Connect.

  • Work across Visa to influence an understanding and an approach that drives long term success for B2B connect and our clients

  • Bring a strong focus of innovation to Visa related to high value cross border payments and new use cases.

  • Build both product and sales teams globally that drive product execution and thought leadership into our global markets.

  • Align closely with the CDMA team to develop acquisition opportunities to enter into cross border flows or to fill existing product gaps.

  • Align closely with the Business Solutions Partnership team and IS&P team to identify strategic partners that can enable new solutions for clients around the globe


  • A minimum of 15+ years business experience with related product experience within commercial payments

  • Strong understanding of Treasury Management from financial institutions with a global view/remit (10+ years).  Focus on High value cross border payments will be a plus.

  • Solid understanding of the principles of block chain and distributed ledger solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to manage an E2E P&L on a global basis.  $1B+ in Revenues.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop high performing team around the globe.

  • Demonstrated balance between Product Development, Management and a go to market approach that drives success.

  • Strong understanding of marketing and go to market approaches while also ensuring solid execution by internal and external partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify strategic acquisitions, acquire and integrate them into existing organizations.

  • Demonstrated multi-national experience throughout career

  • Executive presence; Strong written and oral communication, including large-group presentations, history of demonstrated market engagement.

  • Strategic thinking and thought leadership.  Looked to as an industry leader/expert across the high value cross border payments space.

  • Demonstrated history of being a culture carrier within an organization and creating a work environment that embraces diversity in all its forms.

  • Teamwork, interpersonal & relationship-building skills, and ability to lead by influence and example.

  • Operates with a sense of urgency and drives team members to act in a similar manner.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is a plus.

  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible.

  • Ability to work within a complex environment.
