Job Description

Visa is a data-driven company from the top down, presenting continuous opportunities for the Data Products and Solutions team to deliver innovative insights and business intelligence (BI) solutions. Our internal business intelligence applications are used globally by all business lines to drive product and business strategies, build customer loyalty, and identify new opportunities/threats for Visa and our partners. We are creating a Single Source of Truth to further strengthen data driven decision making internally and for our clients.

The GBI team is responsible for delivering projects that enable both Visa teams and Visa clients to make informed decision to achieve their business objectives. The team closely collaborates with business stakeholders to understand the business needs to provide a short-term solution to gain business growth for both Visa Inc. and Visa clients.

The GBI team is a center of excellence in Business Intelligence at Visa; this is a high-performing team of data analyst, and business analysts with various cultural backgrounds – serving all geographies including North and South America, Africa, Europe and Asia. GBI team is looking for a product manager, a person that adopt new business intelligence skills.

KPIs are:

  • Reduce operating cost: Deliver BI projects on time, and within budget and ensure the projects delivered as per business requirements and executed within set timeliness; Comply with processes that track tasks and also always suggest on improving processes to bring further efficiency.
  • Increase operational performance by broaden GBI’s reach through education and accessibility.
  • Work as a team to build confidence in business decisions that result in new ideas and products for Visa clients and Visa Inc.
  • Contribute insights to increase revenue for Visa globally by aiding in providing information to validate new customer programs and products.

The Senior Product Analyst role within Global BI Products will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Develop deep understanding of the Visa business, process, data/BI platform (e.g.. MicroStrategy, Tableau, and more ), as well as data. In the meanwhile, maintain an awareness of current industry trends, products and techniques

  • Play Business Owner/Product Owner role in various Technology projects with agile approach including backlog story creating with clear acceptance criteria, backlog items prioritization, acceptance testing, and more.

  • Develop BI Products Roadmap and its delivery plan by working closely with internal GBI products team and Technology.

  • Interact with various internal functions to fully understand business requirements and desired business intelligence project as in agile project

  • Execute on the project plan with appropriate data platform techniques

  • Perform QA on data and deliverables by developers and own deliverables

  • Review all project documentation and provide necessary feedback per project plan

  • Ensure project delivery within timelines and budget requirements

  • Enhance existing business intelligence techniques by promoting new methodology and best practices in business intelligence field

  • Provide subject matter expertise and quality assurance of complex data driven business intelligence projects

  • Build relationships with colleagues across the globe to create a set of essential contacts

Qualifications

The desirable candidate shall have most of the following essential knowledge, skills or demonstrated experience:

  • 7+ years of business intelligence or related experience. 3+ years of BI experience in banking/payments industry as well as understanding of payments industry data and metrics is desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
  • Skilled in various BI tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, QlickView, and others with wide range of visualization methods
  • Be confident with accessing Hadoop through various channel or Datameer or similar toolset.
  • Strong knowledge of BI and data warehousing principles including data modeling, data quality, extract/transform/load process, job scheduling and indexing
  • Strong knowledge in various databases (e.g., Hadoop) and programing languages (e.g., Python, SQL, VB)
  • Must work well in highly collaborative, matrixed and team oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communications skills - capable of developing well-structured dashboards, communication packages, or presentation.
  • Strategic ability to synthesize and organize data/information into actionable recommendations with clear customer and shareholder impact.
