You will be part of Visa’s Digital and Development Platform (DDP) global team with responsibilities to lead a team of talented engineers out of Visa’s Dubai office focused on supporting implementation of end to end solution for digitization and mobilization of commerce for clients CEMEA market, assuring client success in adoption of Visa’s digital products.
You will be leveraging your previous software development experience, preferably in the Fintech space, to train and mentor a team software engineers experienced in developing mobile and web applications.
You will be using your leadership skills to collaborate with stakeholders and remove impediments, your excellent communication to interface with external teams to understand client’s technology and use cases, and experience in multi-tiered application development to guide clients in adopting and implementing Visa’s Digital Products.
You will be using your out-of-box thinking and metrics driven approach to come up with innovative solution to help onboard clients quickly and continuously improve metrics

The Director of Engineering will provide technical leadership and follow Visa’s leadership principles to effectively lead multiple client implementations covering web, mobile, and API products by simultaneously working closely with the engineering leads, product managers, and client support teams.
12+ years of software development experience in Computer Science (BS or MS) or related field
5+ years of experience in leading engineering organization with at least 2 years of experience in a Senior Manager role.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of SDLC in agile environment, software development & quality assurance process & methodology
Experience in development of web applications, web service APIs (REST, SOAP, XML JSON), mobile application or mobile applications using industry standard open source tools.
Experience in troubleshooting multi-tiered applications and problem solving skills
Experience in Unix, Java, Internet protocol, and DB technology.
Experience working with the mobile stack (iOS and Android)
Must be comfortable presenting and speaking to large groups of people.
Flexible to work with distributed multi-cultural global teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence decision makers
Knowledge or experience of financials/payments product development is a plus
Ability to communicate in Arabic, French or Portuguese is a plus.
