Job Description

What’s it all about?

The Senior Manager – Operational Risk is an exciting opportunity to join the Europe Operational & Technology Risk team.  The Senior Manager will be responsible for the 2nd Line of Defence (LOD) oversight of Operational Risk across Europe. This includes ensuring effective identification, measurement, control and ongoing monitoring of operational risks within the organization.

What we expect of you, day to day.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the operational risk program and framework of Visa’s European business

  • Support the oversight of the Operational & Technology risk appetite including risk limits, key risk Indicators (KRIs)

  • Manage updates to the European Risk Committee and European Operational Risk Sub-Committee

  • Manage Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSA) across key functions. Assess and collate RCSA results, review findings and reporting feedback to senior management

  • Manage the overarching Controls framework including setting and monitoring standards and providing oversight to the controls testing program

  • Manage the lifecycle of Operational Risks with in the GRC tool; Experience in managing issues and events catalogues

  • Provide education and tools to the business (and process owners) to promote/enable self-assessment, measurement, reporting and management of operational risks

  • Establish and produce management reporting in support of the various activities within the technology and operational risk management governance framework

  • Support the Risk Director of Operational and Technology Risk in developing the maturity of risk management activities across the Europe and provide thought leadership as required

  • Champion best practices for effective risk management including controls monitoring.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in Enterprise Risk and also with Internal Audit

  • Support a culture of risk transparency and effective challenge

Qualifications

What we’re after…

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in developing and rolling out Operational Risk Management frameworks.

  • Strong ability to demonstrate value add of Operational Risk framework to business leaders and process owners.

  • Intellectually curious and ability to understand business needs and processes; Identify and articulate inherent risks.

  • Hands-on experience working on all components that make up the Operational Risk framework.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence at a senior level.

  • Risk Management Certifications.

  • Ability to effectively time manage and prioritize multiple requests and deadlines

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail; comfortable in challenging the status quo, and undertaking analysis to better understand business issues and to propose solutions

  • Prior regulatory experience a big plus
