What’s it all about?

To support the Head of Sourcing & Operational Buying in determining and managing the sourcing / procurement process within Technology for contracts less than £250k.

 

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Responsible for identifying and engaging with key stakeholders to ensure a robust process is utilised to agree requirements, search and appraise appropriate supply sources and negotiate/renew contracts.
     
  • To manage the Visa buying process, that is aware of and adheres to category/sub category plans, ensures that all purchase requisitions and purchase orders for spend up to £250k are effectively managed and approved and ensures that suppliers are not out of contract.
     
  •  The job holder will also support in providing buying and procurement advice to designated business areas and will contribute to the wider strategic plans of the Sourcing Team.
     
  • Experience in Professional Services and HR would be valuable.

 

Qualifications

What we’re after…

  • Educated to degree level, ideally in a business or legal discipline, or hold relevant professional experience

  • Studying/willing to study MCIPS or MIIAPS

  • Buying experience, ideally in the Financial Services sector, preferable

  • Proven capability in negotiating tactical procurement deals in non-complex markets

  • Proven track record in category / sub-category buying with comparable levels of spend – up to £250k

  • Proven capability in negotiating sourcing deals

  • Good knowledge and application of best practice buying and procurement processes

  • Good IT skills and working knowledge of Ariba or equivalent e-procurement system

  • Good supplier and contract management experience would be valuable

  • Demonstrable influencing skills and stakeholder and relationship management

  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills

  • Energy, pace and proven  track record of delivery to agreed timelines
