Job Description

We'd love to have you join our team to help us enable every one of our merchants' inspiring stories through your practice of the best test strategies and latest technical solutions. You’ll solve problems using a broad range of technologies including .NET/IIS, Selenium, Java, Linux, JavaScript/Python, SQL and mobile technologies. You'll leverage your experience and education to dissect and explore feature requirements and to collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence testability within and across application layers. You'll speak the language of automation and exploratory testing to experiment, measure and report your findings across many testing, business and technology domains. Ultimately, you'll partner with Product Management, Project Management, Software Development, and other Test Engineers to ensure that the highest quality product is consistently delivered within an agile development cycle.

As a Staff Test Engineer, you already have the ability to understand complex system architectures, pinpoint both high and low-level problem areas, and influence product development while growing your understanding of current development and test practices. Throughout your career, you have demonstrated the ability to challenge the status quo and drive innovation that has far-reaching impact across the organization. You understand the strengths of your teammates and their potential for excellence, and you know how to bring a team together to achieve it.

Responsibilities

  • Own your feature from beginning-to-end, from planning-to-production, from production-to-support
  • Create useful tools and then share them

  • Assess and communicate risk effectively to stakeholders to drive toward customer-centric decisions

  • Know the business and what we're trying to achieve together to stay focused on the right tasks and deliver value on time

  • Learn from others and continuously improve your craft as well as team practices
  • Mind the details to develop and test features the right way. This includes:
    • Time Management skills to manage multiple projects
    • Try different points of view to solve problems
    • Catch issues that others don't see using your keen observation and debugging skills

Qualifications

 

  • MS or BS with 5+ years of experience in Computer Science or related field

  • Understanding of Object Oriented Principles

  • Ability to write code in C# or Java and actively participate in code reviews

  • Experience building automation frameworks.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and RDBMS concepts.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Experience testing web services

  • Knowledge and/or experience in finance/payment industry a plus
