As an analyst in the Corporate Development team, the candidate will be responsible to

  • Research, synthesize and produce reports of related M&A market data
  • Investigate, assess, categorize and document the M&A candidate ecosystem
  • Conduct analyses and prepare presentations that inform our M&A strategy
  • Assist with Global M&A transactions under supervision of the M&A team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Market Research and Prospecting
  • Collect and Analyze current M&A markets, candidates, or trend data to support our M&A program
  • Generate informed perspectives from industry reports, public information, field reports, or purchased sources
  • Analyze technology trends to improve collective understanding of the M&A opportunities
  • Analyze industry or geographic trends with business strategy implications & regularly update relevant teams
  • Track and monitor new/potential/current M&A targets, using variety of sources and tools
  •  

Analytics

  • Initiate and own key metrics for monitoring, ensure data is current and accurate
  • Create and own appropriate data and workflow tools or systems, spreadsheets, or outputs

Presentation and Communication

  • Prepare clear, detailed, and easy-to-understand M&A strategy communication materials using business’s language, for senior management

Global Collaboration

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, high-energy, high-performing team, across global time zones, under tight deadlines on projects and in M&A execution

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience, preferably in either a strategic services role (investment bank, strategy consulting, corporate strategy, Big Four accounting) or a payments/technology company (enterprise software, e-commerce, financial software, banking)
  • Fluency in business English, with excellent communication, writing skills, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work at high standards with precision as you collect, aggregate, manage and analyze datasets using various methods, and then arrive at an informed opinion grounded in facts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Python, Tableau, and R experience would be a plus, as would experience with Capital IQ
  • Self-starter who has strong project management and organizational skills, can work independently with minimal guidance, but is also eager to learn
  • Ability to understand and prioritize the market and customer (internal/external) needs in delivering key M&A market insights; comfort with assembling and telling a story related to the business imperative 
  • B.E/B.Tech from premier institute; with Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Math, Finance, MBA a plus
  • 2-3 years related work experience; working with US teams and M&A exposure a plus
  • Experience in payments sector/technology industry, especially with product management, is a plus
